last minute christmas gift by
Beth Pierce
I was down to the wire on making Christmas presents and had
just a few to complete. Not knowing what to give, I came
across a potpourri bag made from fabric. Has anyone done
this? You take two pieces of fabric, 8x14 inches and sew
them right sides together on three sides, making a bag.
Then you...

Latest bridesmaid update! by
Kate Dicey
The second dress stuff went up this evening. More work on this one. I
have tried to let it out a bit, but there wasn't really much to let out
- not as much as was needed, anyway!
Look in Kate's Sewing room, in the left hand column, at the bottom: How
to rescue a bias cut disaster!

Rachel Grier
Hello All
Does anyone know what happened to the laughingsisters.com website. I keep
getting a 404 error message. I had this site bookmarked because of the
larger size clothing and they offer the option of buying a nightgown but
sewing it yourself. All the hard work of cutting out had been done...

Laundering fabric by
[email protected]
How many of you launder their washable fabrics before cutting out their
projects?
I am curious because many years ago I had a class in sewing and it was
recommended to wash all material before starting your projects. We were
told this would show the nature of the fabric, ie bleeding,...

I've been sewing basic bodysuits and unitards for my kids' gymnastics
and would now like to make some with contrast lycra binding. Has
anyone ever done this on a leotard or swimsuit? I've tried it numerous
times but can't seem to get it right. I follow the pattern

Lining a lampshade by
Judy s
I have a cool lamp with a shade that needs the lining replaced. The old one
dried up and disintegrated near the narrower top part of the shade where it
was closer to the bulb.. What type of fabric is used for this? Does it need
to be heat resistant? I am now using those new cooler burning "curly"...

Lining for Self-Fabric Belt? by
dogmom
I've made this dress; trimmed it. I have just enough of the trim left to
make a 2" wide self-fabric belt. I want to add a little stiffener or
something to give it a little body so it doesn't turn into a rope but is
still soft enough to tie into a square note and hang down. Can I just line
it with...
