Yet another thread All About Karen by
Karen C - California
We were watching the PBS special about the Carpenters, "Close to You". They're
selling the DVD for $120 and the DVD + CDs for $180.
The question arises, is the extra bonus 45 minutes on the DVD *really* worth
buying it for?
Are the CDs something only available from PBS, or could we get them for...

Well, I finally finished a wedding piece that I started two years ago. The
happy couple has been married for a year and a half now, so it must be time
to give them their wedding gift! (You don't understand, the last time I
gave a wedding gift it was 12 days after the wedding and the couple...

Was wondering if anyone knew anything about Firefly Designs. Found
their website while surfing and saw some beautiful kits. When I sent
them an e-mail it came back undeliverable.
Thanks,

Pesky 1/2 crosses by
Dannielle
Ok, so tell me what you do - and if you have knowledge, what judges expect.
I have a piece that I am starting that has a lot of half crosses. Now, do I
make the half crosses go the same direction as the top leg of my full
crosses, or do I leave them the way the instructions suggest, which...

Seattle and Stash Report by
Rachel Janzen
So I've been home now for just over a week, and it's probably time to
report. So on the 26th of February we flew out of Saskatoon, just ahead
of a snow storm. We flew in Edmonton, where it was storming, at least
bad enough that my DB and SIL didn't meet us at the airport for our two
hour layover....

OT - file under small world by
Cheryl Isaak
Last night DD and I attended a Shabbat service at a local temple as part of
Girl Scout week. As I walked in the door, I see a male face that is vaguely
familiar, but I know lots of people from work or around town. The woman
greeting the Girl Scouts is familiar too - very familiar. Hello Cheryl,...

I finished it!! by
Little Black Bird
I've been working on the January Angel Puppy free chart from Vermillion
Stitchery (http://www.vsccs.com/charts/AngelCatsPuppies/acp-01.html) and I
finished it! My poor index fingers are so sore. I'm working my way through
all twelve, and they'll be turned into lightly stuff Christmas ornaments...

Meredith
I've got two hardcover copies of this that I picked up at Bld. 19
(warehouse store in New England) a while ago, and I haven't been able to
sell them on Ebay. So, anybody up for swaps? I'm in the Greater Boston
area, for shipping purposes, and am interested in almost any type of
thread or fabric,...

Apology by
Threaded
Apparently my posting concerning a specific company and a specific product
offended someone (maybe not this group), and they reported it as spam, and
my newserver was blocked, until we questioned them.
That wasn't the intent. I'm sorry if it was taken for that. I just thought
that other...

Dark Silk by
Suzanne
I'm going to do some blackwork on my sampler, but I don't want it to be
just black. If you wanted a dark color not black what would you use?
The part I'm talking about is going to like a frame around the outside.
The letters will be in a couple shades of purple and the hardanger
heart in shades of...

Waaay OT. Playing cards and games of patience. by
F.James Cripwell
There are quite a few games of patience with playing cards, where in
one part of the game, one piles Ace,2,3, etc up to King of the same suit
in one part. In another part one piles downward, black followed by red
followed by black etc., from King, or any other card, King, Queen, Jack,

Also could you have seen the item please tell me the difference between mini
twist, stranded, and silk twist.
I am using it for surface crewel work and it has to cover the fabric well.

Slightly OT--Hanging a quilt by
Dawne Peterson
Our parish was given two lovely starblankets (quilts with a central star
pattern) by the ladies at a nearby Indian reserve. We decided to hang them
in our parish hall.
The people who originally planned this thought they would suspend dowelling
from the ceiling with fishing line, and drape the...
