think it is about 30 yrs old and fully refurbished approx. 7 yrs ago.
I fitted a digital controller last year with an adjustable first ramp
and then on full to top temp.
My question is, currently I have been firing only to...

Hi,
I live in Leicestershire, UK. Does anyone know a good supplier of potter's

Best Clay for Ovenware by
GaSeku
I'm sure I will get varying opinions but still welcome everyone's input.
What type of clay would most suitable for ovenware, earthenware or stoneware?
With or without grog?
I attended a workshop this past weekend where we were told that earthenware
would be preferable because it is a better...

lighten up people by
grizzzlyadam
You people need to learn to meditate, i think staring at your monitor
is affecting your brains, so you should maybe try something like
working with clay, I hear it's pretty relaxing. I COULD GIVE YOU SOME
LESSONS, if you'd like... Maybe get you on a potters wheel and off the
slip molds.

studio vase by
zendy
hi there,
I have a studio vase in a flattened globular shape. The body has
a lovely semi grey high shine glaze - and underneath the glaze are
spectacular iridescent silver flowers or leaves in a spray type
pattern.
Quite an unusual glazing technique and very handsome in its execution.
vase has a...

Rather than throwing *dry* I use thick slip as the throwing lubricant; a
couple of dabs as I start, and then as I throw an occasional *hand wash*

Nafferton Pottery by
Lee BARRASS
Hi!
My mother has just come into possession of a pot pourri pot, about 35-40 cm
high that is decorated with fuschias and cherubs.
She has been told it was made by Nafferton Pottery and is likely to be
Victoria. Does any one have any information on this?
Thanks,

Crazing Query by
potty
I am testing a liner recipe supplied by Linda Christianson on two clay
bodies, Earthstone Crank by Scarva and Rustic Stoneware by
Potterycrafts, both iron-bearing bodies; the oxide content is similar in
make-up. The recipe is intended for wood firing and hence, I suspect, a
long cooling, but I...

New elements? by
Sue Roessel Dura
Hi Folks,
My firing times are increasing and the final ramp temperatures are
falling below those programmed so I'm thinking it's time for new
elements. Since this will be the first new set since I bought the
kiln, do you have any helpful advise for me?
Thanks!
Sue -
