Airbrushing glaze by
Tass
I am actually a ceramicist but decided to post here because this questions
would apply to pottery as well as ceramics. I have always be told "not to
airbrush" glazes as it is a dangerous process due to the frit and chemicals
in the glazes. Is this indeed an unhealthy practice and could it be...

Old Kress Kiln by
GaSeku
I recently bought an old cress kiln. It's probably over twenty years old. The
outside looks its age but the inside looks almost brand new. All of the
elements are working and the cord seems in good shape. Is there anything else
I need to check before firing it up? Thanks all!

Repairing scratched crockery. by
Ian Stirling
Silly question.
I have scratched plates.
I have a electrically fired kiln that will go up to 1000C.
Is it possible if I put plates in kiln set at correct temperature, and
ramped it up and down correctly, that the glaze would reflow?

Any Electricians out there? by
Tim
Hello all,
My aunt is giving me her old Kiln and I don't know the model but here
are the specs she gave me...10 cu ft. The directions recommend a 60amp
breaker, she has it tied into her box on a 70amp breaker and the box
still heats up. She called the manufacturer and they recommend an 80
amp...

Clay for Beginners - Throwing by
Mud Dawg
Jim, are there any pottery supply stores or studios close by? Your wife can
throw all she wants and then reconstitute the clay unless it is fired.
Eventually, she will want to experiment with glazing and start keeping her
work. In my opinion, she also needs to decide what cone she will be...

David Hewitt by
Steve Mills
Dear Friends,
David Hewitt who always read this NG, and was an occasional poster to it,
passed away earlier this month.
He was an excellent Potter, an accomplished Glaze Chemist, and a good
friend. He will be sorely missed
