Copper / Silver bangle: Join first, or form first? by
Michael
I want to make a bangle out of copper, with a silver lining. Simply =
because=20
copper tends to stain the skin.
One approach could be to create two bands, one of copper, one of silver,=20
with the tolerances so snug the silver band fits inside the copper band.
Or I could take two flat bars...

Glueing diamond to watch face by
[email protected]
Hello! I have recently acquired a neat old Gruen mechanical watch
(1940s era) with diamonds on the face. The only hitch is that one of
the diamonds is missing. Could I simply super-glue a spare, low quality
diamond in the missing space? There's probably a "correct" way to affix
a diamond to a watch...

What's the effect... by

....of colors on brilliance of a gemstone? I got confused when I saw two

topaz and the other was a light blue zircon. Although I know zircon has =
much
higher R.I. than topaz, the sparkles seen in topaz seemed to be much...

It's getting a bit tiresome seeing one misguided American after another with

Yeah, I guess it's the thing to do; maybe part of that whole soccer-mom
culture. Unfortunately,...

Foredom question... by
Todd Rich
Well, I was getting ready to order a Foredom kit from MSC and I noticed
that MSC still carries the H series of motors (1/4HP 20,000RPM) which have
been discontinued from Fordeom. I was wondering if it would be worth it
to get them for the extra 5000RPM, or to call up MSC and see if they have
the...

Ring Sales - Seasonal Effects? by

I've been making and selling a wide selection of rings (wedding,
engagement, custom, gift, casual, etc) on-line for over two years. My
sales volume is correlated to my web site's position in the search
engines, which has steadily risen over the last 24 months. My web site

Niobium Wire by
Charlie
I'm after Niobium wire (1mm round) but the only source I've found so far
wants £70 a metre for it. Is this what I'll have to pay for it? Or is
there a cheaper source? I've never worked with Niobium before but I love
that bluish colour! Also, can you solder Niobium?
Charlie.

Sterling Silver Snake Chains by

Ok, someone must have a secret source! Anyone know a place where I can buy
16" or 18" chains for less than £4? I don't mind buying in bulk or having a
minimum order, but the cost of the chain is really putting the price of my
pendants up! I'm after ball chain too. Sources in the UK would...
