TSWLTH Update by Alice in PA[_3_]
For those of you who read my post last week, I have further news.....good news. I had visited a Joanne's store for the second time to pick up an item that the staff assured me they always had on hand....but they didn't have it. I asked if I could place a special order, and after waiting almost...

OT Dogs and thunder/lightening by Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
It's springtime in Missouri with our usual tornado warnings/watches and heavy rains. I have heard of golf ball sized hail but this is the first time I've seen it- and the weather man said it may increase to tennis ball sized hail! My truck probably doesn't have a straight piece of metal on...

Killed Ginghers by Polly Esther[_5_]
I just carefully boxed up some dull Ginghers to have sharpened. In case you might need to know, the nice people at Gingher will make your Ginghers just as great as new for $ 7.50. We've been cutting lots of fleece and minkee for washable diapers for the needy babies and that stuff is not very...

ok...well, I made a baby quilt for a friend's newborn....progress Today, however, we got hit by a curveball....not totally unexpected, but still.....as of this morning, DS has officially been diagnosed with Aspergers {sigh}. So, now we start the battle all over again. School said in the fall...

Latest projects by IMS[_6_]
I recently finished up a couple of projects, one i child-size quilt for a little 7-yr old girl who is undergoing cancer treatment done with pink applique hearts, sashing and boarders - she likes pink! - the other is a small spring wall hanging for the 'seasonal wall' in my office. ...

quilt shop trip by She in PA[_2_]
I had a great day yeasterday. Seven quilting friends took a van and went to Berlin, OH to quilt shops. We had a blast. We visited 5 quilt shops around that area. We did a lot of buying, eating, and laughing. It was rainy but I don't think it bothered any of us. Friends are the best.

Motifs or cross-hatching? by Sartorresartus
OK. Welsh wholecloth. Centre motifs complete, and first (very fiddly) border done. Straight line edging to these two done. Now, I'm quilting the next, wide, border (12") http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff191/sartorresartus/Othens%20Quilt/ It has big motifs in each corner; biggish motifs...

Postage Stamp Quilt by Kate T.
Now for the challenge of a lifetime. After my mother passed away I took all her hobbies and put them in the closet. They have been sitting there for years. Well I got in the cleaning mood and got in that closet. Didn't get much done because I came across this quilt book. I giggled at the...

Pixie update by NightMist
Well I finally had the patience to get through to Singer today. Found out that the manual for the thing is free online at the website. I also found out that it is most probably shot. Apparently they have had repeated problems of an identical sort with the Pixie. There is no bobbin case or...

DD: Set back Update by Butterflywings
DD has had 'regular PT' this week meaning she has gone to the Clinic for them not here at home like before. Good thing, too, as her PT'er is EXCELLENT and very Professional. (She is the same one I've had so she 'knows' us). She noticed a change in the heel from Weds' session so DD headed back to...

OT -- new back fence! by Mary
Today I was able to get rid of the old, rotten wood back fence, and have new wood installed! When I bought the house 12 years ago the fence was getting rickety but was kind of OK, so to slow down further deterioration I took every partial can of white, cream, beige, and yellow paint left in the...

New quilting toy by IMS[_6_]
Yesterday morning I answered a craigslist ad that seemed too good to be true...but it was true! A Inspira frame for sale for $300 including the cruise control. Went to see it today, expecting it to be in terrible shape for $300...or for something to be broken or bent....but it is perfect...and of...

OT - Farewell beloved Tara by Jo Gibson[_3_]
Mark's dearly loved calico cat passed away today in her favourite sunny place in the neighbour's front garden. I brought the baby and bicycle in after taking him to feed the ducks, took the post upstairs, and a neighbour rang the bell to say he thought our cat had died. She was 18 1/2 and had...

Missing you and quilting, long by Polly Esther[_5_]
There's an awful racket going on in my stash, haven't touched it in weeks. After getting some quilts off to the Japan survivors, NIN sent out a desperate plea for receiving blankets. We shipped out a nice stack of them - you should just See our postmistress stuff one of those 'if it fits'...

Best method for "flange" which will have a mitre ? by Jo Gibson[_3_]
I am not sure I can explain this well, but I am putting a "flange" onto a cushion cover that will have mitred corners. That is, it will look like a French pillow, in that hit has a flat bit of fabric all around it... I've not done this before, but thought it would be a nice effect and might...

Don't you just hate it when...... by Lizzy Taylor
...... your spool of quilting thread runs out partway along the last border and you don't have a spare in that colour? Now I have to hope the local craft shop open on Sundays has it in, or I shall have to wait until sometime in the week. Lizzy

Right foot saved - delay by Ursula Schrader
Sorry, I won't be able to send the block in time; problems in the family, you know. Just the normal stuff when you got a toddler, and my DBIL is very ill, they don't know if he'll make it. So my DSIL can't babysit DD yadda, yadda, you know the whole rigmarole. Anyway, I'll post the thing...
