Hello RCTQ Buddies! I am OKAY!! Earthquake, Smoke, Hurricane ....
certainly not a dull mmonth here in Virginia. In my area we just had some

broken dishes up closer...

Needing some tips about Dear Jane by
Trish Brown
Well! It's only a couple of weeks since I found out about a thing called
'Dear Jane' here at rctq. I wonder why I so badly need to make one???
Oddly, my quilting buddy (who now lives at the exact opposite end of the
country) has been infected independently of me and mentioned it
yesterday in a...

An unashamed beg by
Sartorresartus
The National Quilt Museum in York (close to me) has managed to get
itself to the final of a competition for charity funding from the
Lottery Fund. It is a great place, and I have had reason to be very
grateful to them for their help and support getting me back into the
community. They attract...

Strange Noise in the Studio by
Butterfly-Wings
For the last 2 days, every so often, DD & DH heard a Strange Noise coming
from the Studio.
Took them a bit to figure out
it was Phoebe!
Didn't last very long (dr orders) but Phoebe still works :)

Washing Soda? by
barnyowl[_2_]
I'm wondering whether the use of washing soda is beneficial? I've been
reading an ad for a natural product called "Nellie's" - caught my eye
because that was my Mum's name and is also my middle name. It claims that
only 1tblsp per washload does the job of regular detergent, is...

Names of patterns by
Hanne in DK
Do you ever wonder how a pattern got it's name?
I went on a school trip to (among other places) NY City in March (Hi
Kim!). It was my first ever trip to NY (State or City).
I went to Purl Soho (hosts the purlbee blog which I love!), and brought
back various fabrics.
Just now I was pondering,...

Steam? Or not? by
Sartorresartus
I'm pottering through my first patchwork for what seems like a
lifetime. I fell in love/lust of a couple of jelly rolls and decided
to go for Eleanor Burns' "Boston Commons". ALL those little squares
and ALL those 1/4" seams: I'd forgotten so much about it all.
I was going great guns until the...

OT Home & thank you by
Lizzy Taylor
A couple of weeks ago I asked for t&p for my dad. We have just come
back from spending a week with my mum and visiting my dad in the
hospital. While the diagnosis is as grim as ever, he is much better in
himself than he was - more connected and chatty. Thank you all for your
spiritual...

My reason for quilting by
Roberta[_3_]
ROFL! Maybe it should be "when to quit", especially for my cooking.
But I'm with you on quilting. Have to do it, can't stop.

update on friends' son by

Well, they were able to remove the tumor. It was much larger than
they originally thought and had attached to places they thought it
hadn't. The parents just got off the phone with the doctors....Wilms
cells were found in the mass...Wilms tumors are usually found in the
kidneys....they want to...

OT Yay Me! by
NightMist
I have been losing weight steadily since May, and today I hit the 30
pounds lost mark.
I have not been on some arcane diet. I have not been using one of those
'eat only our food' programs, nor have I joined a gym.
What I have been doing is rooting hidden sugar out of my diet, the whole
family...

web agenda by
AllisonH
Hi all,
I am trying hard to stay organized and use a calendar program on my
computer at work. But I would like to find a web-based (non google)
calendar that I can sync between my home and work computer. Like
Evernote but for dates. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks,
Allison
