Block of the month by
teleflora
I was at JoAnn's today and they have 2 block of the month quilts. I didn't
care that much for either one of them, but it got me to wondering. I think
this would be a good learning tool for me as far as technique, color choices
and patterns go.
Are there any online places that anybody is familiar...

who made the quilt? by
Gail Matthews
I am trying to complete one of my older UFO's, a queen-size quilt
which, if I ever get it finished, is destined for my bed. Every
other quilt I have done, before this one or since I started it,
has been considerably smaller. Since it is so large, I am seriously
thinking about finding someone to...

OT - Dogs, Labs by
Lindroos
We are "test driving" a new dog. Gaby is a 5 yr old lab that was returned to
the breeder. The only thing that has me hesitating in loving her to death
right away is that I have noticed a marble sized lump by her ribs. DH called
the breeder and was informed that this is common in Labs. Most...

Postal Strike Scuppers My Plans by
Michelle Lee
For some time now I've been trying to decide if I dare buy fabrics
online. I spent months mulling it over and finally opted to use a
site whose shop I have visited previously.
I went to the site and spent a long time deciding which fabrics I
would buy and ended up choosing only 6 because I wanted...

OT my new tee shirt by
Pat in Virginia
Yes, this is totally off topic!
Since becoming a member of the Red Hat Society, my friends and I
have been searching for some fun and funny purple garments and
red hats. Well, they have been searching for hats. I already had
7 red hats.
Yesterday I stopped at two thrift stores to see what...

OT - Oatmeal for baths by
frood
Poor little Giles is covered in hives. She is itchy all over. I know oatmeal
baths are soothing, and I can buy some Aveeno bath stuff, but I have oats in
my cupboard right now and was wondering if I could use those? Do I need to
put them in a muslin bag? Would a paper coffee filter work if I staple...

Nine patch quilt blocks by
Beth Pierce
The other day a neighbor leant me her video by Marti
Mitchell. It didn't show a title as my neighbor taped it
herself and the title picture was not taped. Although the
video was outdated by the clothing Marti wore, the tips were
excellent. I learned a lot there, especially about nine
patch quilt...

Quilting for Charity by

Making quilts for charity, aka Pro Bono Quilting, has been 'in

Carolyn's Suggestion by
Lynne Van
Carolyn...I missed your note somehow, earlier. This is a
wonderful idea. I can certainly attest to the fact that many of
these folks would love a cozy quilt, as so many of them are
lonely and away from their own possessions. And by giving them
locally, we know where they are going.
For those who...

By way of explanation.... by

Okay m'friends (and i do consider many of you as friends):
Every so often, we have a troll roll in here. (For the newbies, a
troll is someone who comes here (or to any list) to make trouble.) The
pattern is invariably the same. The person posts a poorly written note,
asking for advice about...
