Yeah, 2 items finished by
The Lady Gardener
And, in time for the course with CA Wells this weekend.
http://myembroidery.bigblog.com.au/gallery.do
The pics are of rather average quality, as the light was fading while I was
getting the photos. When I have finished items - a pyramid etui and a
needlebook - I will put some pics of them up...

Beautiful laying tool!! by
Mavia Beaulieu
Awhile back Victoria showed us some of the laying tools she had been making.
The ones on her website were lovely but all too large for what I was used to
using. I described to her the Best tool I now have. It's about 4 inches
long, very slender, made of metal which unfortunately...

Cats & Ironing Boards do NOT Mix ;) by
Magic Mood Jeep©
OK, I have a finished cross stitch that I am getting ready to frame. I have
pressed it and mounted it. I left the ironing board out while the iron
cooled.
Left the room to get my cutting board for the mat.
Sit down to check email while in the 'office'.
Hear a loud crash-bang-rattle, followed...

Hardanger experience/advice by
Susan Hartman/Dirty Linen
I am self-taught in Hardanger, and have been doing it on and off for 20+
years. Lately I've done much more cross stitch with just the occasional
Hardanger piece.
I started several samll Emmie Bishop angel ornaments in Hardanger for a
group of friends I'll be seeing next month, and for some reason,...

Yet another use for floss by
Cheryl Isaak
I suppose it is surface work or perhaps appliqué, but I just finished using
floss to blanket stitch DD's Daisy (Girl Scouts) petals and center on. The
troop is using felt backed with iron on tape. I even matched each separate
color piece with the nearest shade of floss.
Wonder how many Mom's will...

those old bureau scarves by
val189
I had an inspiration and will try to execute. I'm going to cut squares
from the corners and try to make napkins. Just turn a hem and that's
it. They'll have the edging only on two sides, but I think they'll do,
if I fold and iron them on the diagonal.

cross stitch programs by
Lisa R
Ok, I don't know how long it's been since this topic has been
discussed.... I'm wondering how the various cross-stitch charting
programs rate these days. I'm not a professional and don't want to
pay professional prices, but would like to have the options for
specialty stitches. Any...

Quilted Baby "Thing" for Grocery Cart by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
Well, the SMDGD is starting to sit up by herself and will soon be mobile
enough to sit in the seat of the grocery cart when DD takes her shopping. I
have seen those quilted "things" that go in the cart seat area and then you put
the baby in them and they keep the little one more secure. ...

Floss Storage Quest... by
Louise Weiler
Hi all...I usually just lurk, but I'm on a quest (again). I *REALLY* like
using the Floss-Away bags for my projects. Like a lot a lot. BUT, I now
have a fairly good supply (probably some of about 2/3 of the DMC colors, not
to mention those non-DMC threads that came in various kits I've...

Based on a message I read here, I attempted to join this group to
learn more about using my PDA to help with cross stitch stash. I was
shocked to find that the moderator of said group denied my
"application." I thought the idea of these groups was to help trade
information and teach and learn new...

OFF TOPIC OFF TOPIC - any plumbers? by
Cheryl Isaak
Ok - for some reason the upstairs toilet is acting up - it doesn't flush
reliably each and every time. But, it does respond to the use of the
plumbers helper (aka plunger!) and will function properly for a while.
Could it just be some one be using too much paper? Or have I got a worse
problem. I...

California shops? by
Felice Friese
It may be a little early to think about a June trip to California, but not
if you're cold and icebound in New England. (It's 4:45 pm and the first car
to leave our 10-home road just made it up the street, in the snowplow's
tracks.)
I'll be there from June 6 to 18, working my way down the coast...
