Pirate invasion by Eastern Edge
I've been invaded by a pirate, but he's very cute so I think I'll keep him. This is the result of a pirate hat request: http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/quilt_craft_mom/album?.dir=a07ere2&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos Inspiration from...

Anyone here get The Stitchery catalogue? I haven't embroidered for decades, and I was just about to toss the catalogue in the recycling when I turned it over and on the back was "Knit Lite." Lighted knitting needles. Yes!! For a mere $15.95, you can own a pair of plastic needles (sizes 6,...

Ladies Workbook - free ebooks by B Vaughan
I've found a great website: http://manybooks.net It has thousands of books that can be downloaded free, in all sorts of formats. They ask for a contribition, and I gave them one, because they deserve it. Most of the books are pre-1930s, and thus out of copyright, but there are a few more recent...

Large circular needles by Vintage Purls
Hi all, I have a pattern that calls for #13 24" circular needles. Now I'm in N.Z. and we use the metric system, so I think that the equivalent is 9mm, 60cm. Trouble is the largest I can find in local shops is 8mm (and then only in 100cm length). Can anyone suggest a good online source for needles...

Yar! Ahoy Matey! by Wooly
A week late (two weeks late?) for TLAP day, but a month early for Halloween. I'm sending the sprout out as a pirate this year, this is part of his costume. Next I need to make him an eyepatch (black with an orange S&B) but that won't take long. I made this dubblemussa-style using Cascade220 in...

So far I have yet to see a sweater pattern that includes the hip measurement......this seems strange to me, my hips are 48 inches and my chest is 42 inches. I like my sweaters to cover my butt so there is no way if I follow a pattern for a sweater that it will fit me...unless I am missing...

Felting Help by Bob & Carol
Knitting the purse pattern in the new Knitty. I knitted the swatch then it says to wash it in hot water and record the time -- for the real thing. However, I don't know where to start on time would a normal wash cycle do the trick? I am using Lamb's Pride.
