Happy Halloween by SuperEeyore
I took a mini break from knitting to sew a costume for my daughter. At first she refused to put it on. I got real worried all the effort was for nothing. But last night she decided it wasn't so bad being a piglet! That pooh bear is her best friend by the...

Cher, I was finally able to access my 'other' addy book that Dennis/SpikeDriver is in.... I emailed him, and he and Nora HAVE made contact, so this is one less 'worry' you'll have. Dennis was also so kind as to send me a CC of his correspondence with Nora, and also sent me a private note. So, on...

I want it all by Robin in Jerusalem
So here is the pattern request I have... Once I owned a combination scarf/hood made by landsend. It had a space for your head, but also wrapped around like a scarf. (Unfortunately I lost it...) I want to make something like that, but I think I'd also like to make pockets at the end of the scarf...

Mirjam? others? Purchasing Yarn in Israel by Robin in Jerusalem
I found a nice beginner project at Knitty and now I think I'm going to have problems finding the yarn locally. I have no problems with switching to a different yarn (and I want purples not Orange) but I don't know who carries such bulky yarns? Anyone know the Jerusalem yarn scene well? The...

DH has been busy with my wheel by Noreen's Knit*che
Well, LOL, come to find out, there was a REASON my FIL shellacked the *h* out of my wheel and varnished over it... the shellac hid the fact that he used about 4 different kinds of wood when he built it! (and the thick coat(s) of shellac covered so well, it appeared to all be ONE wood, till we got...

I can't recall who started the thread, but whoever you are THANKS!! It's fascinating seeing where we all are. I've often wanted to put up a map with pushpins for locations, and this sure offers the chance to do so. Karen in MN

How do I soften stiff (cheap) yarn? by Donna Levin
I crocheted an afghan from cheap acrylic yarn, and it's very stiff ... not soft and cuddly. Is there any way to soften it up? I've tried running it through the washine machine. It's a little bit better, but not much. Should I just keep washing it with lots of fabric softener? Any suggestions...
