Sewing Room Accessories by
Ward
Hi,
I need some help with ideas for my sewing room, specifically, bookends. I'm
in the process of converting my basement into a sewing room. The shelves
will be going up this week and I need at least 3 sets of bookends.
Naturally I want the bookends to be sewing related. Did a "google"...

LucyD
Anyone know where in the UK or Europe I can source organic fabrics
suitable for cushion making? I have only found a couple of places so
far, both expensive. Any ideas much appreciated.

"Entrepeneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing" by
CHRIS O SULLIVAN
Just want to let people know that this book, by Kathleen Fasanella, is
available on Amazon. Kathleen is the seller and I believe there are
only fifteen or so left. The book has been very difficult to get and I
highly reccommend it.

Children's Sleepwear by
Peggy
Does anyone know where I can buy flannel fabric that was chemically treated
to meet the flammability requirements of children's sleepwear? How do I
know if the fabric I'm buying meets this standard? Is anyone familiar with
how they treat this fabric?
Any information would be...

Brother sewing machines by
G. Carlson
My wife is looking for a new sewing machine. She finally gave up on
the Singer that we bought just after we were married 35 1/2 years ago.
I dropped it off at St. Vincent de Paul's last week after she spent a
frustrating day with it and told me "to get it out of the house." The
look in her eyes...

need bow tie/cummerbund hardware supply by
Penny Lemire
Once again I've walked myself into a volunteer job of
epically idiotic proportions (so what else is new?). Our
middle school bands (and maybe chorus and strings) want to
add bow ties and cummerbunds to the uniform
white-shirt-black-bottoms. This is to add a little pizzaz
and identification for...

efficacy of pants pressers? by
[email protected]
I always press my pants because they're pure cotton. And because they
were properly tailored to measure, so pressing them makes them last
longer, too.
I'm intruiged by the pants-presser appliances I've seen (for example,
at Hammacher Schlemmer).
Do these things really work well?

Ebay is a great place to find fat quarters(or other sewing supplies), the
perfect size to make the free dog clothing pattern, a pet vest, posted on
this site. The free vest pattern requires 2 fat quarters per vest, choose 2

Duct Tape Double almost here by
duh who
OK, did the wrap tonight, cut it off, but the damned tape is giving off
fumes that are getting to me. I'm letting it set outside overnight. I
haven't taped up the cut line yet.
What's the best thing to fill it with? Particularly if I want to put it on
a stand.

nippers - which? by
Robert
Many posters here have said that they find nippers (or thread clippers?)
indispensible when sewing. I am trying to find a pair. I want them to be
small, light, plastic-handled and of good quality. Is the one-finger "ear"
a useful thing? (without ever having used one I think it adds little...

Thoughts on arrival of new machines by
Valkyrie
As I have been reading the NGs having to do with sewing a thought all of a
sudden occurred to me. The decisions involved, waiting for and arrival of
new machines (often referred to as my/our baby) is much like that of the
arrival of a much anticipated child. I know writing out that check after...
