The Star in the Lone Star by
MerryStahel
Okay, the Star in my Lone Star is machine quilted. Now I need to put on a
binding, and do some hand quilting in the white squares and triangles that
surround the Star.
I will post pictures when I get the binding on.

Invitation to Canadian Quilters by
Margaret Mills
I'm the coordinator of a small group of Canadian on-line quilters called
RBQ (for Rather Be Quilting). Due to attrition, we would like to
recruit three or four new members for our new year which begins October
1.
The original purpose of the group was to "squishie" every member with
FQs on her...

Speaking of the Ft Washington quilt show....I just got home from spending
the whole day (10 am - 7 pm) @ the Expo Center to help my LQS owner set up
her booth for the show. She owns The Country Quilt Shop, which happens to
be the largest quilt shop in Pennsylvania. Make sure you stop by Booth...

Quilt shops in Tokyo? by
me
I will be in Tokyo from 28 September for a week and am interested to know
where to find the local quilting outlets. Searching the web provides a lot
of information (I think) in Japanese only and that unfortunately does not
help me too much. Personal input is always best and will be...

LQS Bargains! by
Nbhilyard
Quilters Dream in Antioch, IL, is moving to new quarters on the next block (no
pun intended!) at the end of the month. The only fabric special is "25% off
if you buy the bolt," but most of the bolts are pretty full. However, they're
clearing out miscellaneous patterns and notions -- and books. ...

Wonderunder question by
Suequiltmail
Just after reading the post about how to keep fusible web from
getting on your ironing board cover I picked up this month's Sew
News magazine, and there was a little hint in it about using
rubbing alcohol, wiped on with a towel, to remove the web!
I'm going to try this myself next time I gum up...

Yesterday's class by
Julia in MN
Carol Doak spoke at my guild on Monday. Yesterday she taught a class on
the Machine Paper-Pieced Autumn Leaves Wall Quilt in her "Easy Paper
Pieced Keepsake Quilts" book. I had done a little paper piecing before,
but never using her methods. She made it a lot easier. This is also a
tesselating...

Remember that old White that I found at the curb? Someone suggested she

two tables. She's going to ask her husband about letting me buy them. One
has been refinished, but she couldn't remember if it was the one the...

Just returned from the show and saw Tutu's Dear Jane. It was awesome and
perfection. Well done! Also saw Kris's manhole cover WUH. Also well
done! Met up with AliceW, her DH, (the photographer) and Frood. The gals
were awesome, too, in their animal prints, and Wendy's bracelet tattoo
was groovy. A...
