Pami update on breast cancer/reconstruction by
Pami
I had the other breast lifted Friday May 4th and the surgeon took care of
the dog ears on the breast that was removed from the cancer that now has an
expander in it. I'm sore but not as sore as I expected. He did a great job
on the lift. I can't tell you the confidence the lift to the other...

RCTQ 2006-2007 BOM by
Carole-Retired and Loving It
My quilt is finished and bound! It's drying now (had to wash the cat
hairs off) and when it's dry, I'll send it to my mom for Mother's Day.
I had a hard time getting a good picture of the finished quilt. I
don't have a place to hang something that...

Happy Dance! (But OT...) by
Sandy
Well, it may be a *little* bit on topic, since it involves someone using
a quilt I made. VBG This is the quilt:
http://www.sandymike.net/baby.html#Ella. And the Happy Dance is that
our little granddaughter arrived this morning, almost three weeks early
(to her mother's huge relief G) and...

Another Towne Purse by
Alice
I'm not sure who made the first one of these, but I remember it being blue
denim. I thought it was so cute that I picked up the pattern at the
Lancaster Heritage Quilt Show last month. The pattern was fun to make and
the results can be seen under "public shoebox" in my webshots album.

Cigarette smoke in fabric by
Sunny
I got fabric in the mail today -- an Ebay purchase from a seller I've
not had problems with in the past. But this time there's a problem:
All 100 4-inch squares reek of cigarette smoke. And even worse, they
reek of whatever she doused them with to try and cover the cigarette
smoke.
I really don't...

Flag Quilt Block Patterns by
Gothikka
I have just participated in an Americana quilt block swap, where I
made blocks of the US flag ( Stars and Stripes ). This has inspired me
to want to make a quilt, which includes flags of several nations.
Would anyone happen to know of any sites with patterns for flag
blocks? I have googled this,...

Done by
Butterflywings
Done but not finished.
The contractors are DONE with Butterfly Studio 2 as of yesterday. Now I need
to finish setting things up to
where they will work. Have discovered that the ironing board will NOT fit
where I wanted (I plan on using the work table to iron yardage, etc) without
moving the...

quilt photo frames by
Anne Rogers[_2_]
I'm wanting to incorporate a slot for a photo in a wall hanging, I've seen
these made, but not somewhere I can go back to and have a look at. the basic
idea is that you have fabric folded to create a half to full inch overhang
around a rectangle, I'm sure I can figure it out, but if anyone has...

Washable Crayola markers... not washing out.. by
Johanna Gibson
Hello,
Every time I have used Crayola washable markers to draw a quilting
design, they have washed out at the slightest bit of cold water
hitting the fabric.
So I wanted to embroider a lavender design onto a white
handkerchief, and used a red Crayola washable marker in order to see
where I was...

Presoaking batting by
Sally Swindells
To pre-wash or not to prewash, that is the question!
Have just got out my new Hobbs Tuscany Wool Batting to use. It says
there is no shrinkage, but suggests you make lots of little samples
using 'presoaked/as it comes out of the packet' samples to see what the
difference is.
My instinct is to...

What I bought by
WitchyStitcher
I decided I would buy one of the Quilt Pink quilts for auction on
Ebay. This is the one I won:

The colors are much more vibrant than in the photos.

Susan Laity Price
I have been keeping a secret from you for months. The shop where I
teach has been chosen as a featured shop in the fall issue of Quilt
Sampler Magazine 2007. Better Homes and Gardens came to photograph the
shop and staff two months ago. We told the customers a white lie and
said the photographs...

I joined your group about a week ago and have been "lurking". I am so
impressed with the excitement in your letters. It is nice to find a
group who communicate and share.
I have been quilting since 1992 and enjoy all styles, from art quilts
to traditional.
Thanks for letting me...

The "Do Not Call" Register opened today. Supposedly you can
register online to exclude your phone number from all those
annoying telemarketing lists.
Yippee!!
Of course (and most unfortunately) the DNC will not apply to
charities/educational facilities(?)/political candidates -
