Neil Fernandez
Can someone point me to a mathematical description of a hat block?
Or even just define the curve at the rim of a top hat :-)
Many thanks!

Chaos costuming by
Lexin
First post...
I've been asked to run Chaos Costuming for a media convention (yes,
well, the person they'd got down to do it dropped out).
I'm an ordinary home dressmaker who occasionally does costumes, and I
was wondering if anyone who's done any teaching of dressmaking has any
advice they can...

Sewing Business (The Book) by
Joy Hardie
O.K....I am in hot water again with my husband. He is never happy
with me and my informal business practices. He never thinks I charge
enough...too many hours of labor not enough income and so on. I
remember a while back that there was a discussion about some book on
the subject specifically of...

Meditation robe by
John
Does anybody have any links to sewing patterns for Zen Meditation
Robes. I have looked on the net and nothing seems to come up. I would
prefer something that is purposeful and specific to that style but if
necessary I could modify something else although that is not as
desirable. Thanks.

Fool proof serger? by
[email protected]
I have a Hobbylock 788 or something like that- and I feel that I have
to mess with it a LOT! to get it to work. something is always getting
messed up and yesterday it swallowed some fabric and jabbed holes in it
with the arm that holds one of the looper threads. Most annoying.
Any suggestions...

Looking for seamstress/creating patterns from photos by
[email protected]
Greetings:
I'm interested in a way to locate a seamstress who would be able to
copy a clothing design from a photo. The woman at the local tailor shop
said that its fairly easy to do....but time-consuming and thus she
wasn't interested in taking on the project.
Any assistance in pointing me in...

Has anyone got any experience / recommendations about selling on any of

Ruched Sash--How to make? by

I am making sashes for bride's maids in my daughter's wedding. She has
seen a picture of a "Ruched Sash" and would like that style. It looks
like it has small pleats or tucks but I am not sure how you would do
this. The description says that the sash is 4.5" wide. I have a lot
