Another denim jeans quilt ? by
Mika
Taria suggested staggering the seams for denim jeans quilts, which sounds to
me like an excellent idea. That would eliminate bulky seams. My question is,
do you all iron your seams to one side or open? I know that ironing them to
one side provides more stability to the seam. But this is denim...

o/t she's here! by
Morag in Oxford
Hi ladies,
Well as predicted the baby messed up plans for an anniversary dinner by
deciding to arrive yesterday afternoon (25th). Very quick labour - less
than 3 hours start to finish - so quick that I only had time for the gas and
air, not any of the harder stuff! We have named her Iona, and she...

Tyler's Hug by
Betsy Ross
I got the hint. Some take objection to
my listing the gracious folks who have
sent blocks for Tyler's Hug/Quilt of
Valor. Instead, I will look up email
addies as I can to send personal
notification.
NOBODY should ever be hurt or
embarrassed for participating/not
participating in any Hug. RCTQ...

Kris Bishop
Hi All,
Does anyone have the new on-line JoAnn Fabrics coupon ( to print
out and take to my local store to use)????? I'd really appreciate it -
if anyone could post it here or e-mail it to me.
I'm trying to finish up a few projects and need some more batting.

Canceled my subscription to QNM by
Kathy Applebaum
For the first time ever, I've canceled a magazine subscription rather than
just letting it run out.
I'm sure QNM's surveys told them that everyone wanted more patterns. Alas,
that seems to be all the magazine is now. :( Silly me, I thought if I wanted
a magazine of patterns, I would have already...

white/cream pillow help by
quilter
Hi ladies,
I'm planning to make my brother a couch quilt for Christmas made of
cream colored minkee on both sides, thin batting in the middle, lightly
quilted with an all over design of circles or criss-crossed lines.
(This was by request). I'd also like to throw in two pillows to go
with it,...

New Janome 11000 query by
Paulette
I know I am really forgetful, however, I really thought someone on this list
ordered one of the new Janomes. I have a friend who is seriously
considering ordering one, but wants to know a price range to expect. I have
searched online and found $5800. $7500 and $9000. Anyone know for...

cut of a fabric showing newspaper print. My daughter needs some for a
project she has in mind and as with all 15 year olds nothing else will
do. Ive looked in all the usual places with no luck at all.

Beth's Place update by
Queen of Squishies
Does anyone else have a block on the way? I have emailed everyone whose
blocks have arrived so far. A couple of you volunteered to make a second
block if need be. I need two more only. Declare yourselves here, so I
don't get swamped with extra blocks, okay? LOL!

machine quilting with nylon thread by
nzlstar*
hi Martha,
can you tell us more about what you're making.
why would you want to use nylon thread at all?
i'd sure not use it in a babys quilt, might cut off circulation in any tiny
fingers that might get caught in any tiny loose bits.
i prefer 100% cotton on 100% cotton fabric.
or sometimes cotton...

Denim Jeans Quilts by
Pat in Virginia
Hi!
In sorting out the closets and nooks and crannies, I've learned
that I have stock piled quite a few old jeans 'to make a jeans
quilt when I get a round tuit.' So, it is time to get started on
this ... those jeans take up way too much room. I started cutting
some squares. I got a whole bunch of...

After those personality traits are figured out, the mass splits into two par

D-M Quilting System - long rant by
Liz A.
I'm looking for suggestions and hope you guys might come up with
something helpful. Two years ago, I made the mistake of buying a D-M
Quilting System from http://www.d-mquiltingsystems.com/ From the time I
ordered it there was nothing but problems. It finally arrived 2-1/2
months late. He had...

She's home! by
Paul & Suzie Beckwith
Just thought you'd all like to hear - last night I drove my friend
Debbie home (well to her Dads house for the near future) from the
hospital - exactly a week after having had the surgery on her back - she
is walking on crutches, and with a very exaggerated gait - but she is
walking and the...

OT - just not too bad by
Queen of Squishies
First of all, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers when Cindy posted
about my full body pain and nightmares. They were related to each other,
but not related to getting off the pain meds. like many of you thought. I'm
doing much better now. What happened was, my injured shoulder flared up...

ATC quilt cards by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Okay, quilters.... we had a nice long thread on them and quite a bit of
interest. But did we decide anything? I'm too dingy to host- I always
have those pain meds to fall back on as an excuse! LOL I'd like to
make, maybe, ten for a centralized swap. I'm envisioning a shadow box
frame to...
