running a load of darks through the washer and ... are you ready?...
DECIDED TO THROW IN MY CHRISTMAS THROW.
It's a rag quilt.
What are the chances of me getting all those threads off my good knits, do
you suppose???

I am playing with an idea by
grammykathy
I am thinking about trying to start a quilting bee here in the small
town where I live. I already go to a sewing group on Fridays and
REFUSE to give that up but would like something here close also.
There are times we don't have one and times I just can't get there.
I am open to any and all...

Nine Patch frenzy by
Debi Matlack[_2_]
Yesterday I enjoyed myself very much just putting together 6 in nine
patches. I love them. Some were out of the scrap box, some were cut new but
I had fun. I'm heading back that way again. Maybe the wedding quilt I need
to make for March ("ish" according to the bridegroom) will be nine patches....

Back from the land of the living dead by
John
Today was the first day back behind a sewing machine. I finished
quilting a utility quilt project that I had been thinking about and
working on. This is a strange lap quilt that you wrap around yourself
with a 4 foot zipper that connects the bottom front of the quilt. I am
making it for my wife who...

What Is Cancer? by
[email protected]
Cancer is actually a group of many related diseases that all have to
do with cells. Cells are the very small units that make up all living
things, including the human body. There are billions of cells in each
person's body.
Cancer happens when cells that are not normal grow and spread very
fast....

Placemat Binding, Baby Quilt Questions by
dogmom
A few questions before my favorite cyberquilters disappear under trees for a
day or two:
What width do you recommend for double-fold binding for placemats (or
anything else, I suppose)? I'm thinking 2 1/2"--1 1/4" finished--but would
that be too wide? (I usually do 3" for quilts and sometimes...

getting rulers for Christmas! by
Anne Rogers[_3_]
My Christmas present from DH is really my new sewing machine, which I've
actually had for 3 weeks (gosh, can't believe it's that little, I've
used it a lot!), but he really wants me to have something to open on the
day, so finally, inspired by Patti's book and another equilateral
triangle...

what batt for fluffy quilt? by
Lobo
Criminey! it's disgusting the stuff that appears when I search on "quilt
batt tied"! I should've just posted here to begin with.
I'm making a quilt that's going to get washed, slept on by cats & dogs,
taken to football games, etc., so I am planning to tie it. The giftee also
likes high loft. ...

need suggestions about organizing quilt photos for web site by
Susan Laity Price
Three years ago my husband purchased my domain name for me as a
Christmas gift just as I had requested. He continues to pay for it but
I haven't posted any pictures yet. Now a friend with experience in web
development has offered to help me. She feels she must repay a favor.
Who am I to say...
