Grandgirls quilting by grammykathy
My 2 oldest grandgirls are 5 and 6. I have a little Janome sewing machine just their size. I let them sew by themselves. I drew lines for them to sew on and sat by their side while they operated the machine. I was so proud of them. The lines worth claiming are label C for Cheyann the oldest...

fingers crossed... by Anne Rogers[_3_]
Hopefully the saga of my sewing machine is over (to refresh, I brought a brand new Brother QC1000 at the beginning of the December, it's been back to the workshop twice due to skipping stitches when free motion quilting, accompanied by some very odd sounds), it got back from the workshop Monday...

Bobbin case by Marie Dodge[_2_]
The thread wont go freely around that part where the needle thread catches it. It snags somewhere and the motor can't overcome it now. The parts are all clean and still look brand new. :*( I've very upset..........

Triangles still not working by Marie Dodge[_2_]
If you look at the roof of the lighthouse building itself, the little building, you can see a dark brown parallelogram. Using a sewing line and a dot I tried to sew the roof of the house to the sky piece 5 times now. It's not working. The bottom is either too high or too low and not in line. ...

Ping: AnneRogers by Marie Dodge[_2_]
Thank you so much for that site. That was exactly what I needed. Like the pics in my missing old quilt book. We need to keep the URL handy for the next person with a triangle-to-rectangle problem. :^)

for marie by Anne Rogers[_3_]
http://baltimorealbum.blogspot.com/ Here it is, with photos, it shows how to pin, how the corners match and where to position it on your machine to sew the seam correctly. Sew right from one end to the other, start with the needle off the fabric, finish with it off the fabric, don't...

PING Marie- those darn triangles! by Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Marie- I know you are getting terribly frustrated and you must be exhausted by now after fooling with this all day and you are prolly confused by all the conflicting advice you are getting. I SWEAR to you- what you are trying to make is known as Flying Geese. The second method shown on this...

rotary cutter blades? by Julia Altshuler
I seem to go through rotary cutter blades at an amazing speed. I'm careful to use them only on my Olfa green mat, and I'm good about closing the cutter to the safe position when it's not in use. Still, they go dull in no time. I spend zillions on blades. What I haven't done is kept track of...

OT Nascar Withdrawal Syndrome by Polly Esther[_2_]
I know there aren't heaps of Nascar fans here but did want to be sure that all my racing buddies know that the first race is tomorrow evening. 7 pm CST on Fox. And other happy news - yesterday we were in a Pfaff store and I got to see the latest Pfaff. Wow. It could do everything but run...

About Styles Of Wedding Dresses by [email protected]
There are many different styles of wedding dresses, almost as many styles of wedding dresses as there are shapes of women. No two women are shaped the same and that is why it is so important to get wedding dresses tailored to fit the bride. This often costs more money but it is well worth it if you...

Great service--online shopping by monique
I saw Marshall Dry Goods mentioned here a while back, so I went to take a look. They have some fun stuff! I put in an order on Tuesday; package came on Friday or Saturday. From what I can tell, first quality goods, at about half the price of the LQS. Since I can't always get to the LQS, I was...

Why you haven't heard much from me. by Susan Laity Price
Last summer I set a goal of organizing my studio. A friend came several hours a day for three weeks and we managed to sort, organize, give away and throw away enough stuff that the basic studio is usable. She now comes for a few hours every Friday and we must clear the table of a week's worth of...
