beaded sweater being worn at last! by
myswendy
Well, my SIL loved the beaded sweater. It was a bit big in the back so
she opted to use snaps instead of buttons so she could cinch it in a
bit more. I will make adjustments on the next outfit.
On my SIL's doll forum, it's delightful how life stories are spun
around the beautiful dolls in great...

Fibre Feast by
Vintage Purls
Hello?
It's a bit quiet in here today.
I've been at the dye pot again. I now have a nice wad of Teal alpaca:
http://www.vintagepurls.net.nz/images/misc/tealAlpaca.jpg
Yes, it is that vibrant - I love jewel tones.
I'm very tempted to do some silk in the same colour and mix the two -
hmmm.
It's...

Gemini: v-e-r-y OFF topic, a query about Catholic statues(fwd) by
Mirjam Bruck-Cohen
A clever friend of mine once said to me
that "we are too inteligent , to laugh off , all the beliefs , of the
former generations". Some beliefs had reason , good for their time.
Nothing is Silly , it is just out of it`s time ..

Labels on handknit item to sell by
jheller
Hi all,
Hope you are all well.
If any of you sell hand knitted, crocheted, fiber crafts, what type of
content and care label do you have? ( for my use only)
I was reading a "Sell Your Crafts" book and there are Federal Trade Laws
about labels on fiber content and care.
I did have a few things that...

FO: Cheryl Oberle's Domovoi shawl by
WoolyGooly
Pattern from _Folk Shawls_, a book I'm pretty sure I'll knit my way
through over the course of the next 10 years :D
I made the shorter version (just a matter of knitting fewer repeats)
and ended up with something pushing 7' (yes, seven feet) in length.
This is half of it as seen thrown over my...

buttons? by
Cindy
Hi there--
I'm a glass maker . I've started
to make glass buttons and am wondering if anyone has ideas about where
to market them, and more importantly, what're considered the marks of
a quality button--short shank, long shank, drilled holes, glued
shanks, glass shanks....I really have no idea. ...

Question on Stranded/Fair Isle boarders by
No Name
How come we do not do them any more?
I had not done any stranded work for awhile, but for the last few days, I
have been doing many swatches with stranded boarders and looking at
traditional garment designs. Stranded boarders are so practical and
decorative! But, I just do not see them in...

Doll sweater finished! by
myswendy
Ok, call me proud. Call me nutz. Call me redundant.
I finally got the website squared away to show off my little 4-inch
sweater! VP was kind enough to help me with the technical parts (I'd
rather be knitting) and get 'er up there on the web.
It worked out to gauge but I am still concerned it will...

blocking/washing? by
myswendy
Hi all!
I just finished my very first doll clothes project--a beaded white
sweater with buttons down the back.I have blocked it and sewn the
seams up. My question is this: It needs both a final blocking as well
as a washing in Woolite (I presume). Which do I do first? Does the
washing essentially...
