I got a suprise! by amy in CNY
One of my mom's neighbors gave me yards and yards of fabric she didn't want. It's all cotton, really pretty, (some flannel), and each piece is 2-3 yards or more each. I have washed and ironed it all, they're going to be great backings. I can now start seaming the backs, and sandwiching at least 8...

My $10 find by DiMa[_2_]
I think I was very lucky this week. I visited one of the local opportunity shops and found a 'quilt top and bottom' that had been made to cover a doona. The opening was finished with bias tape and Velcro (sp). The small blocks are 2 inch squares and on some of the blocks you can see where the...

Free to a good home.... by Megan Zurawicz[_3_]
I use some pretty small scraps of "normal" quilting material, but I really don't have any use for scrap flannel. First person to ask gets a fistful of flannel scraps in their mailbox..... --pig

What I don't like about FMQ machine by Michelle C.
Well true, Sandy, hand-quilting is definitely not about speed. Both are quilting, but may be it's apples and oranges. I've got a 92" square quilt I'm hand-quilting at the moment. I doubt I'll get it done this winter before the weather becomes too warm to hold it in my lap. Michelle in Nevada

Thanks, Sandy, for mentioning Miss Read by Susan Laity Price
Thanks Sandy for mentioning Miss Read in another post. I have not read any of her books but she sounds wonderful. Our library has several of her books listed in the on-line catalog. Does it matter if the books are read in order? I see that there are several series. The Fairacre Series and the...
