modeling by

I'm thinking of getting into clay modeling. Could someone tell me
where I can pick up some plasticine? For instance, does Walmart sell
it?

Best fabric for (homemade) buffing wheels? by
[email protected]
Can anyone suggest what sort of fabric to use for a homemade buffing
wheel for my tiny little Craftsman rotary tool? I've made one from some
cotton fabric -- left over from hubby's pajamas -- and it (kinda) works,
but it has lost much of its coherence quite quickly. I've read that
denim or...

Sad news and a (sorta) AD by
Barbara Forbes-Lyons
Our girl doggie, Babes had a small skin tumor removed on Monday and the
lab results are back and it's a level 2 sarcoma (cancer). We need to
have additional surgery done, plus drug therapy and possibly some
'cancer hunt' type tests to determine if the cancer cells have spread to
other areas, like...

Best clay for charms by
Marisa Cappetta
Hi, all. I want to make some charms and would like to know which clay is the
strongest for this purpose. I've used Fimo Sculpey and applied some pressure
tests and it seems to break fairly easily. I'd appreciate any
recommendations.

First Bead :) by
mermaidscove
http://www.mermaidscove.com/photos/firstbead.jpg
Made my first bead, since I started playing with clay again. The shape
is from a mold and she's got metallic powders, antiqued and a wee bit
of glitter on the tail surface. What do you think?

This thing called clay! by
Polly S.
I think I am at least finding some (temporary?) limitations. Which is,
funny enough, sometimes a good thing!
'Playing' with this stuff (!) I have tried a lots of different things
and found that for small pieces there is basically adding and/or taking
away clay. Among other things, I've tried...

Surface for Working w/ Clay? by
Polly S.
I was wondering what kind of surface y'all use for working with polymer
clay.
I have tried ceramic, glass and waxed paper but they none have been
'non-stick' enough. I checked the price of the silpats (silicone baking
mats) and, unless I find one locally, the price + shipping is ludicrous!
Thanks...

Liquid Kato by
Arondelle
I know I'm not the first person to do this, so I need some quick guidance.
I molded a little moon face, brushed it with Perfect Pearls Interference
Green, baked it. Then, I coated it with Liquid Kato, and baked it.
Well, it doesn't say on the bottle what the recommended TIME for baking
is, just...

question about hand lotions & polymer clay by
Marissa Undercofler
Since I am still new to the world of polymer clay, I have a question
regarding hand lotion and polymer clay.
I have very dry hands, so any cracks in my hands pick up the clay, as well
as leave marks..I also have a few places on my fingers where the skin is so
dry that it has flaked a bit and left...

Some of my PC work (link) by
Turtlelover
This is one of those "duh" moments!
I rarely check the homepage of my ISP, and I usually ignore the offers
they send by email.
I'm glad I finally checked, because they offer a free picture album!
(And I'm working on the free web page.)
I don't know the storage limitation, but I've posted a few...

Clay guns by
Trinker
I was all set to go out to Michaels and buy myself a Kemper clay gun,
only to find that they don't stock those anymore.
They had one from Pro Arts, and another one that was plastic. Anyone
else here have any experience with those, or recommendations for better
products?
Thanks.

sturdy impression of his face?

hi and question by
Dawn Stubitsch
Hi everyone, my computer crashed and it's taken me this long to get back to
this group. I do have a question. Are there any tutorials available for
those swirl beads I've been seeing? I've seen some really nice work. My
trouble is I love to collect all these lessons but I never seem to get
around...

Newbie needs help with canes by
JAMES RICH
I've been experimenting with polymer clay for about a year with a little
success; one thing I'd like to do more of is canes. I've done a few with
some luck, but many of them seem to lose definition when I reduce them,
which I understand is not supposed to happen. And even my ones that stay
nice...
