newbie question - quilting costs by
Kay Ahr
Two of us newbies get together every Monday afternoon to learn to quilt
--
the blind leading the blind. Now we need to know what is a reasonable
price
for having the quilting done on a queen-sized quilt? $200-$300? Our
newbie
eyes got big and our newbie jaws dropped. Neither of us is...

help with jeans quilt?? by
JetteNette
Hi all,
I'm a newbie that's been lurking a short time and can already tell I
love this group and all of you in it. :)
I am making a jeans quilt (6 1/2" squares, 180 of them all cut and
ready to go.) I plan to make a quilt 12x15. My problem stems from me
being so darned indecisive!!
I've looked...

chopping up a walking foot's "toes" by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
My sewing machine dealer cut out the little bar across the front of my
basic sewing machine foot so that it's now an open toe foot- that was
his solution to my request for an open toe foot. ;-) The foot is
clear plastic with some metal reinforcements in the back area of the
foot. I thought...

I'm back - and so is he! by
AliceW
Just got back from Las Vegas. I didn't gamble much, but I found such
interesting quilt patterns on some of the hotel floors! (you know you're
addicted to quilting if you find patterns in floors where ever you go?) I
beat the snow storm (aka blizzard) home since I took an 11pm flight from...

What book am I looking for? by
frood
A new game to play! Try to guess which book I'm looking for! I thought for
sure I had a book with folk art quilts in it, specifically one with an angel
flying over a town. I went to look for it tonight, but couldn't find it. I
thought for sure it was in Come Listen to my Quilts, by Kristina...

OT Reminder to backup your computer by
Kathy Applebaum
As some of you know, I got home from my quilt retreat last week to discover
my computer had died an untimely death. (DH *swears* he didn't do it. Yeah,
right! LOL) As I took the computer in for its warranty brain surgery, I was
desperately trying to remember how recently I had backed up. :(
I...

Finishing UFO and/or Choosing Project (LONG) by
Pat in Virginia
In my HD thread, someone (She maybe) asked about how my guild's
UFO challenge works. In the Stuck thread, several posters ask
about how to choose a project and move on. I think a description
of the UFO challenge will answer that issue. Here goes.
The Organizers (L&N) set the 'rules' as follows....

Neckties by
Liz A.
I need some help/thoughts. Several years ago one of the gentlemen and
good friend that I worked for at a large corporation asked me if I
could use all his old neckties in my quilting. I said sure. Well, I
just learned that he passed away recently. But, before he did, he made
his daughter promise to...

Happy Dance: Oldie but Goodie by
Pat in Virginia
This happy dance is for a very long term UFO. I started it in
California, in a class with Sharyn Craig. I left CA in January
1990, so I think the class was in 1988. I loved the class and
learned good stuff, but my fabric was BORING! Now that it is
finished, it looks much better, of course! It won't...
