Ravensdale! by
[email protected]
It's been such a long time since I poked in here. Life kinda took
over, but I'm baa--ack!. (Some of you may know me from other venues.)
Anyhoo, I'm wondering how many of you are planning on coming out to
Washington for Ravensdale this Summer? I'm really looking forward to
getting together...

(THIS IS SO REAL PEOPLE) Idiot received one PENNY by
Ignoramus30966
I actually sent that loser money in the amount of $0.01.
According to his paypal record, he only received one payment to date,
and I know that that one is mine.
And that despite having spammed the entire usenet. He got one penny
and got his usenet account closed.

2 questions by
mermaidscove_com
You might want to try a "bead roller", they are plastic doohickeys you
use to roll a bead shape, they come with holes that you use to guide a
pin through, since it is still in the shaped bead trough it doesn't
distort. They make a few different shape beads.
I am using canes but only abstract...

2 questions by
Barbara Forbes-Lyons
No, I don't always use canes for my beads. Sometimes I use solid colors
and make swirlies, or scrap clay and cover with mica powders or
paints...or use inclusions in translucent clay...or...lol.
As far as holes go, it takes practice. I rarely pre-drill my beads
before baking. I find it easier to...

A new shell necklace by
King's Crown
I'm very impressed with your work. Loved the shells and fossil ideas. I
collected a lot of shells over the summer and wondered if they were strong
enough to make molds with. I'll just have to give it a try.

Ack!! Toaster oven temperature! by
DianeGlassAttic
Hi Shannon,
You might want to check out my page on baking polymer for all kinds of ideas
and variables, including other ways to cure. (I don't think 150 degrees will
get you much though!)
Since you're an experiment kind of person g, you might want to do the oven
tests that are explained there...

Best Way to Model this Shape? by
Greg Krynen
For an even wedge try this...
Leave one side at table height (flat) on opposite side of clay (base of
wedge) have a stack of cards or other solid surface. Use a brayer or other
roller to smooth the clay along this incline creating an even wedge shape.
To match the curve...
Use similiar method to...

biodegradable peanuts - uses? by
MFrankenberg
oooh, oooh! I know this one!
Toss some in water! If they dissolve, they're cornstarch. If kids see you
doing this, plan on losing some of your supply, because it's fun.
You can use these to make hollow beads or structures, & you can use them to
prop things up during baking, & you can probably...

Can PMC+ be fired in a hotpot kiln? by
Diana Curtis
If you are referring to Precious Metal Clay the answer is, I think so, check
with the folks over in rec.crafts.beads, they know for sure. If you mean
polyclay the answer is no. Polyclay (which is what we know talk about here)
cures at a much lower temp.
