OT fire extinguishers? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
In the dozen years since we've been in the Swamp, there have been 3 home
fires. This area is so remote that all the fire department can do mostly is
bring sympathy cards.
Back when I was gainfully employed we used to have fire drills and
(better yet) lessons from the fire guys to teach us...

The Annual Christmas Wish List by
Frank Reid
Okay, gonna be a short Xmas this year, so lets everyone concentrate on
smaller, less expensive items. Unique, quilting related, but... what
YOU would like someone to give you.
I've already been told about one item for my brides list. (see...

Do you ECHO Echo echoooooooo ? by
Polly Esther[_2_]
A machine quilting question. Tell us how you echo. I 've tried (or seen)
echoing just as close as you can manage to get with the SM foot. I've tried
moving out 1/8" or 1/4" in a sort of shadow effect. I've tried barely
following the edge of the vine or appliqué with just a loopy stipple.

OT Wedding Announcement by
Kate T.
Am I old-fashioned, out of touch or what. I received what I think is
an odd wedding announcement.
I haven't attended a wedding I many years so I could be just out of
touch with modern times.
This announcement was a long post card. Just the name of the bride
and groom with the date and time of...

Need to introduce myself by
CabnNThWoods
Hi all,
I've been lurking for awhile and finally asked a couple of questions in
the past few days. Thank you all for being so kind and friendly. I wanted to
introduce myself, and explain my odd quilting questions.
I kind of got into quilting by accident. My little guy is 13 and has
autism. To...

Advice needed for finishing quilt by
Mardi
Hi:
My soon to be ex-husband was by yesterday and asked when I was going
to finish the quilt I had started to make for him. Since I do want to
finish it and give it to him, I decided that maybe this will get me
out of my funk and quilting again.
But, I'm at a loss as to how to finish it. I...

alphabet blocks by
Mystified One
When doing alphabet blocks, I can't make the set of 26 come out even. No
matter how hard I try, I end up with one left or one blank space.
I even tried figuring out how to make the blocks with alternating blocks, no
luck.
I've already got the ABC blocks, so I can't combine two at the end. ...

OT - what's your favourite Christmas Food/recipe by
Janner
What's your favourite Christmas food or recipe or tradition?
Just thought that I'd ask, as we like to decorate the tree as close to
Christmas as possible, stay up late, eat too much etc on Christmas Eve! So
we've started before Christmas Day, mind you the turkey lasts beyond Boxing
Day!

OT splainin' by
Diana Curtis
Im going to do a quick explanation with no gory details about my operation
so everyone knows that I didnt get sent through a wringer. I had the type of
gall bladder removal they used to do, and still do sometimes, instead of the
easier to recover from laparoscopic type they prefer to do. So,...

The first quilt? by
The Nielands
In an e-mail replying to Diana's thread about getting started in quilting,
Julie said she always had a quilt in her life thanks to her Grandmother.
That got me to thinking (a dangerous thing at this time of day when I'm
tired from work!). What's the first quilt you remember in your life?

OT New QI! by
frood
A large shaggy dog joined our household tonight. I've been looking for a dog
for a couple of weeks, and this one won the pet lottery! Spike, Giles and I
met him last week, and they thought he was great, even though he is nose to
nose with Giles. His foster "parent" brought him to our house this...

What time of the day do you quilt? by
Liz and Steve Ford
Hi Alice I quilt anytime of day but find myself really winding up at about
9.00 pm. Think it is the peace and quiet of the house, no phone calls and
you know no one is going to need you for a while. What about you?

Leslie's Gobsmacker Quilt is online by
The HairyFacedOnes 'N Me
Many, many thanks to Kellie for doing this for me.... what a gal!
Sadly, I am a much better quilter than photographer. It sure doesn't
look so "gobsmacky" when reduced to the dulled colors and lack of detail
in the pictures. Darn. Darn. Darn. Anyway, you can see it...

Tooting my horn a little (on topic) by
Kathy Applebaum
Toot! Toot! :)
Sunday was a good day for my ego. (Monday was too, but it was also a day
from h***, so it didn't count! LOL)
One customer dropped by to say a quilt I did for her several years ago took
Best of Show in her guild's show. A couple of hours later, another customer
called to let me know...
