Preparing for my Quilting Seminar by
Mardi
I'm having so much fun spending money getting ready for my quilting
seminar. I just happened to come into $400 and it was burning a hole
in my pocket, so I bought a Fiskars Tote with my 40% off Joann's
coupon. It's about the size of a small suitcase and it's really
trick. Inside there is a unit...

Interesting On-Line Store by
Mardi
Hi All:
I ran across an interesting on-line store today. It's:
http://www.createforless.com/
They have some great prices on quilting notions. It's kind of weird
though. Sometimes you have to buy a minimum of three to get
something. But, the prices are so good, it's ok on things you...

Updated by
Mary in Oregon
the WIP folder at webshots. I've had to rip at least one seam on every one
of the three jigsaw puzzle quilts. Someday I might get it right. g

alphabet blocks by
Mystified One
When doing alphabet blocks, I can't make the set of 26 come out even. No
matter how hard I try, I end up with one left or one blank space.
I even tried figuring out how to make the blocks with alternating blocks, no
luck.
I've already got the ABC blocks, so I can't combine two at the end. ...

is there a communication problem here?? by
Queen of Squishies
Someone announces they got a great big Hug, and they share the whole
wonderful story, and they get only six responses from us?
"Highly irregular, sir."

Press and Seal Experiment Result by
Patti
Hullo all
I mentioned that I would post the result of my experiment with Press and
Seal. It happened sooner than I had anticipated g.
This morning I settled down to quilt my current piece. When quilting
motifs, I usually use freezer paper and quilt round a template. This
morning the FP would...

Pressing Cloth / Applique and Fusibles by
QuiltShopHopper
Maybe I am missing the point here, : When appliqueing, do I put the bumpy
side of the wonderunder towards the wrong side of the fabric, lay the smooth
side of the fusible on the teflon sheet, then the wrong side of the fabric,
then put a pressing cloth on top, then the heated iron on top of that...

Cynthia England class members? Simply Quilts tapes, anyone? by
QuiltShopHopper
Has anyone here had a class with Cynthia England? Please share any comments
you may have about her and the her teaching and the class.
Simply Quilts episode #655 aired in September 2003 and on it, C. England
showed her picture piecing technique. I would be more than happily willing
to pay for /...

Speaking of scraps.... by
Shona in NZ
Here are a few questions; prolly discussed before but heck, someone may have
missed it :-)
What is the minimum size you keep?
What do you do with the bits that are smaller than the above size?
What do you do with the keepers?
What do you do with your selvage strips? I have taken to using them...

photo, Golden retriever wall hanging by
Marijke
Some people told me back in January that they wanted to see the
wallhanging I made after Rox died so I finally have a photo of it in my
photo album. It's the first in Rox's album at http://photos.yahoo.com/sesesi
I think it turned out very well.

OT-Anyone Ever Use An Estate Sale Company? (long) by
Jill Pochik
My mother in law passed away 2 weeks ago and now we have to empty a
large home full of furniture and other items. Some are old and we don't
have any idea of prices for items. One of the other problems is that the
house is in a gated community with lots of rules including one that only
allows for a...

scissors for lefties? by
Kraterfields
I have nice shears; I even have left handed pruning shears. But..
I can't find good left handed scissors for "craft"... like cutting lots of
freezer paper or wonder under shapes. Very much of it & I lose the feeling
in my thumb from the pressing into it to get the blades to push against...

Speaking of scissors by

I sent off a couple pair of scissors to Gingher to have
them reconditioned a couple of weeks ago. Got them back
yesterday and they are like new! Well worth the $7.50
a pair. If you have any Ginghers that are not as great
as they used to be you will really appreciate the difference.
Just go to...
