laser welders: quality and budget? by
himog
What are the best laser welders out there for quality and value? Your
favorites? Pros and cons?
For each type, how much does it cost new?
Also, who sells good used laser welders these days?
Thanks for any topical input.

smelting difficulty by
Jon Elson
I'm having some difficulty smelting gold out of the precipitate from the
cyanide process from scrap gold. I first cook the filters down to ash
in a crucible with a propane torch. Then, I got some cupels to smelt
that ash. I do get gold out of it, but I also get a greenish-black
glassy substance...

more white gold by
robert merritt
I am to set a stone in a white gold ring using a bezel setting. I am a
little cautious about rolling 14 k white gold into bezel wire. Is it usable?
Are there any tricks to know about it compared to a silver or yellow gold
bezel?

American Jade-where to buy some by
Helmut Cichuttek
Hi
In 1970 I bought a jade ring for my wife in Wyoming off Interstate 80. It is
hnown as apple green jade and is found suuposedly only in this locality. The
color is very even and has no light markings, very much like an unripened
Granny Smith apple. Hope this will help.
