Jacket from shirt pattern by
duh who
OK, I"m hot on the trail of a chinese jacket like I just saw in "Koos and
the Couture ??????" book. Don't remember the last word.
Its on page 45, upper right hand corner. I'm going to adapt this to
something more masculine if possible.
I have a shirt pattern that fits me. I was told I need to...

Thoughts on arrival of new machines by
Valkyrie
As I have been reading the NGs having to do with sewing a thought all of a
sudden occurred to me. The decisions involved, waiting for and arrival of
new machines (often referred to as my/our baby) is much like that of the
arrival of a much anticipated child. I know writing out that check after...

I'm looking for a pattern or any ideas on how to adjust a pattern to
make a majorette uniform. I tried contacting a few pattern companies,
but the patterns aren't available anymore. Any help would be

Do any of you have suggestions on where I might find a good but inexpensive plus size
dress form? I want to make some mix and match formal gowns, but can't exactly do the
fittings on my own body. Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Help with machine by
Betty
I have an 1130 Bernina and I am having terrible trouble with it. Does
anyone have experience with this. It ran for 15 years with no trouble at
all and all of a sudden it just dies while I am sewing. It may come on
again but it is more likely not to. I have had it to the dealer twice and it
is...

old Brother owner manual by
David Denney
Hi there,
My wife has an old (9-10 years) Brother XL 2022 sewing machine. She
can't find the owner/user manual anywhere. Could there be a manual
online somewhere? Maybe a .pdf file or whatever?
She mainly needs to know where to oil the thing. Should she clean it
first?
Also, she needs to know...

Getting Daring by
duh who
I've been fooling around with extending the yoke on some shirts because I
thought it looked "sportier". However, I have a tendency to get some
tension across the backs of my shirts because I have broad shoulders,
extended yoke or not. I decide to go another route.
I was inspired by something in...

Fall colors and styles by
gail
Hi
Recently someone asked if anyone remembered where the article on Fall colors
and styles had been. It is in the Jan.2003 issue, number 104, of Threads

Hope this helps

Old Singer by
gail
Hi Ladies
There was a recent post about finding old manuals. I have a 1964 Singer
348, all metal, made in UK. Runs like a dream, but I would really like to
have the operating manual, some how missing in action. Thank you for your
help.

I'm making some custom bags out of some heavy canvas. Will a sewing machine
handle such a tough fabric? Do I need special

box spring cover - how to? by

Need instructions on how to sew or assemble a box spring cover.
Mine is a king size and it's really 2 small box springs under the King-size

Sewing Eye Dog/Largely OT at this point by

Ah, well, gosh, I had hoped you were going to give me some pointers
for a better fantasy life...
you know, one involving the opposite gender...
Cea, I couldn't remember is you had a husband stashed around someplace or not,
and I wasn't about to recommend anything that would jeopardize that kind...
