Finished Top and Thanks Wendy (again)! by
Tina
I have completed the Margaritaville top and am finishing up the math
for the pieced "Windowpane" back.
This being only my fourth quilt, I am sure it is my favorite so far!
Thank you again, a million, Wendy. I never would have ventured into
these tropical fabrics without your swap! I had a blast...

Getting Serger Help by
Jill Pochik
I inherited a serger when my MIL passed away a year and a half ago. I
had no idea how to use it. I don't believe she did either, in fact I
don't think she ever used it. It is treaded but the tool kit has never
been opened.
Well, I finally found someone who can teach me how to use it. I've
been told...

Lt. Michael Murphy Hug Quilts Delivered by
WitchyStitcher
The hugs were delivered to Mike's mom today. Although they have been
completed since the end of August, I wanted to wait until my daughter
was home so she could come. It was very emotional for all.

raised by her Aunt Maureen)...

Machine Help by
Gothikka
I don't suppose any of you ladies ( and gentlemen ) would happen to
have any experience of the Singer 132Q or the Europro Shark sewing
machines would you? I recently bought these machines, but haven't had a
chance to use them, and was wondering if/hoping that I made the right
choice.

Katrina/Rita Christmas by
Leanne
Is there any type of "clearing house" that we could send Christmas ornaments
and/or decorations for the folks who have lost all of that? I have no idea
where or how things get disseminated to people who could use things like
this. It would be fun to make (or buy) some of these things and...

Putting the boot in! And a thread question by
Kate Dicey
I've been playing! Specifically with Christmas stockings. I've made
three today. They are quite plain as they have very rich fabrics.
One is a black jacquard polycotton curtain fabric. I gave it a curly,
pointy toe with a gold bell on, and some rich gold and black braid round
the top. I think...

Favorite hoop sizes? by
Taria
I have a Grace Hoop with floor stand that is 24".
I am thinking a smaller one might be easier to maneuver.
They are sort of rounded square shaped. I can get an 18"
or 14" but don't know which I might find easier to use.
Anyone have some suggestions or comments about their
favorite quilting...

Please help! - Satin Stitching by
Scorpio
I'm making a fabric bowl, and my first bowl came out great, this one
I'm using varigated thread, and it keeps not 'picking up' the stitch, I
can't come up with any other way to explain it. It's ruining my bowl,
and my patience!
Do you have any ideas why this is happening? I've tried on test...

Dear Jane question by
Butterfly
Been asked but I don't know the answer since I don't have either. If you
purchase the Dear Jane CD, do you also have to purchase the book? Or is the
CD stand alone? And what would you consider a 'good price' ?
Thanks.

anyone still use their vcr? by
quilter
I'm cleaning today - well, not really, but wandering aimlessly from
room to room thinking about cleaning...I just had a thought: anyone
want to trade VCR tapes for fat quarters or scraps? I have donated a
lot of videos over the past few years, but still have quite a few left
that I'd like to part...

Kathy Applebaum
Here's the Car Talk Lame Joke of the Week:
Cinderella is now 95 years old. After a fulfilling life with the now-dead
prince, she happily sits upon her rocking chair, watching the world go by
from her front porch, with a cat named Bob for companionship.
One sunny afternoon out of nowhere, the...

PIQF report by
Anne in CA
A report on the "other" quilt show this month :-)
On Thursday I took Expressive Free Motion Quilting with Robbie Eklow.
Her work is way different from anything I usually do. But it was fun to
stretch a little and play with ways of filling in a background without
stippling per se. We did have some...

Central IL Shop Hop, or Broke Quilters Unite Against Fat Quarters by
Maureen Wozniak
My girlfriends and I did all sixteen of the shops between Thursday and
Saturday. I was going to be extremely good and not spend a lot of money. I
even had a list.
I went way over my budget, but managed to get everything on my list (and some
things that weren't). :-) It's those fat quarters! ...
