Acrylic Paint - Metallics & Pigment Powders questions by
Rob Pierce
Hi All,
I have some questions about metallic acrylic paints.
For years I have used metallic acrylic paint, usually DecoArt's
Metallics or Golden's artist acrylics. They work nice and I've
achieved good results using them.
However, I am trying to improve the useability of the metallic...

While in Colorado, we saw small rocks that had holes drilled in them
to accept either an oil candle or a tea light candle. I know they use
diamond drill bits, but don't know how they do it. How do you get a
flat bottom hole? Thanks, my wife said, "We have rocks, you have a
drill-press - now git...

making bar soap from bits and pieces by
roger
Anyone out there ever made bar soap from leftover bits? I've been
saving the small pieces for sometime..Do you shred the soap, reconstitute
with hot water then press into a mold with drainage holes? I'm a woodworker
and could make my own molds if I had a better idea of processing
the soap chips. ...

preserve buckeye nut by
trwww
I would like to preserve buckeye nuts for crafts. I assume I would
have to treat the buckeye so it wont eventually fall apart. I was
wondering if anyone could make some suggestions as to any chemicals or
processes I could use.
Thanks in advance!

Questions on pressing flowers by
Tan SC
Hi
I'm VERY new to flower pressing, and have a question:
Flowers grow up straight, so how do i position them between the pages
of a book so that the flower isn't pressed down sideways(ie: I want
the pressed flower to be facing directly up, with the petals all
radiating equally from the...

Does anyone know of a company that will print individual messages on
plates and other porcelain items? We are asking for a dinner service
on our wedding list and would like guests to be able to send us a
message to be printed on the reverse side of each piece.
Companies I have seen will print mugs...

Removing logotypes from porcelain cups by
Tomas Lundberg
I have a bunch of nice porcelain cups, plain white in colour and with
a shiny coating (glazing?). The only thing is that there are ugly
company logotypes printed on them (obviously underneath the glazing).
I wonder whether it's possible to remove those logotypes somehow. My
initial thought was to...

sticking paper to plastic by
Nick Charnley
Hello
I am trying to paste a colour photocopy on to a thin plastic sheet (about
1mm thick)
using a water-based glue. The paper is standard photocopy paper. When
the paper dries it causes the sheet to warp. I have tried soaking the
paper and drying it before pasting but this doesn't seem to...

Hello
I want to apply a sealant to some photocopies to protect them from moisture
and soiling. I tried what I think is an acrylic lacquer spray from the DIY
store. It seemed to be OK except that some of the sheets I am coating have a
good deal of white areas and these show a few little blobs where...

Need material that's like linoleum without twine backing by
Doc
I'm looking for some material that has the same characteristics as the
olive/tan colored linoleum you find in art supply stores. I.e. - can
be precisely sanded, readily cut with an X-acto knife etc. I would
need it to come either in approx. 1/8" sheets or be readily mixable so
that you could pour...
