Bright Shiny Objects Fascinate Me
I am currently a customer of Rio Grande, but I am wondering if there
are other suppliers I can look to or compare RG to.
Any and all suggestions or comments would be great.

Shouldn't there be some kind of rule wherein people who string beads
wouldn't be allowed to call themslves "jewelers"?

Am I paying the right price for this diamond? by
Eric
Let me quickly couch this...I am a total novice to diamond buying.
That being said:
3.02 carat, radiant cut, d, SI1 (not sure about the quality of the
cut, ideal, premium, good, etc.) being quoted $25K for the diamond.
Good price?

I have a customer that states she wants a piece of America Jade. She
describes what she wants as being similar in color to chrysocolla and it has
black specks in it. Anyone know a resource I can contact to get some?

American Jade-where to buy some by
Helmut Cichuttek
Hi
In 1970 I bought a jade ring for my wife in Wyoming off Interstate 80. It is
hnown as apple green jade and is found suuposedly only in this locality. The
color is very even and has no light markings, very much like an unripened
Granny Smith apple. Hope this will help.

Anyone know where to find ammonium chloride, otherwise known as sal
ammoniac, in granular/powder form? (Somewhere in the
Seattle-Portland corridor would be great!) I know welding supply
places can get the stuff in one pound bars but I was hoping to find a
small tub of it in technical grade. ...

An interesting watchmaking article from the NASA web site by

ancient magnification optics? by
bugbear
I have been repeatedly impressed
by the beautiful, and tiny, detail in some ancient
artefacts, especially seals and coins.
These are commonly examined using at least 10x loupes,
to see and appreciate the detail.
Indeed, museums often display them under
magnification.

Andzia's Amber Jewelry and Beads Store (Poland based) by
porkchops
It says on the site: www.amberjewelry.com that she's certified and
all.
Anyone have any experience with ordering from her? Is her amber really
legit? Or any further information? (Since a lot of you guys have
connections probably...)
Looks like she has some really nice stuff there too.
