advice for resizing palladium wedding band by
Bucky
I ordered a 950 Pd wedding band from an online store. It's a little
tight, so I wanted to enlarge it a bit. I can send it back to the
manufacturer, but it's a little inconvenient since it requires a week
turnaround time. I called up a couple of local places to see if they
could do the resizing, but...

Advice regarding soldering equipment by
Raane
I've been learning more & more about jewelry design and construction
and am falling in love with the process. I've been using an acetylene
torch (no oxygen mix) at the local arts center, but I'm getting
serious enough to want to set up a studio at home.
What gas and equipment do I want to use? ...

Advice required on gold hallmarks by
Rob Overfield
I need a bit of advice on a gold ring (assuming its gold) that I want to
sell and the hallmarks stamped on it. None of the jewellers I've visited
recognise them, but as I know it was probably bought in New York by an
ex-girlfriend, I was wondering if that might be where it came from. Does
anyone...

Alloying sterling silver? by
Vanessa Boscia
Hi!
I've just tried to alloy some sterling silver for the first
time. Seems like it should be easy right?
Melted 31.1g of fine silver with 2.5g of 99.95 pure copper (I analyzed it at
work). Both metals were cleaned in acid then washed off in water first.
I'm using a propane / O2 torch and stirred...

Hi,
I would appreciate any practical advice on preparing a red brass alloy

Alpaca Silver by
[email protected]
Greetings... I see a lot of Peruvian jewelry around made with "alpaca
silver". It claims to be an alloy of a few metals to include nickel.
It also claims not to tarnish.
Is this a good material? I wonder how many people are allergic to
nickel?
Thanks.
