HMS Daring Quilt by
Eddie
Because I am making a quilt of a ship's superstructure the pieces of it will
have to be fairly exact. To say the least my male sewing is not that small.
:-)))
Sue has ben showing me a technique with freezing paper that will ensure my
edges are strictly upheld to. ;-))
Hope to send a few...

happy dance for a top finished by
Anne in CA
I have another top to add to my hope chest. How many do I need
completed before my divorce is final? This one makes 5 I think. ;-)
This one was made from blocks sent me for my birthday from various
friends. I think setting sampler type quilt is one of my most favorite
activities these days...

Fabric by
Sherry Starr
I am looking for some fabric with a map of the world. I have seen what
e-quilter has, and I'm not wild about it. I want to make a quilt for my 9
year old grandson with that fabric. I have the fabric with the map of the
United States. I will use that for you 7 year old sister. He has...

My Quilt Collection Groweth by
Terri
I wish I'd done this as I went instead of having to go back
and collect everything and put it in one place now but so it goes.
I'm testing driving a slide show with some of my quilts of
the past 3 years. I've got a few more to dig up but for now,
this'll do, I think.
Please let me know if you have...

Update on Cotton Sateen by
Sartorresartus
Read all the advice.
Then:
I took courage in both hands and shoved the fabric in the washer on 40
degreesC quick wash. Used Persil non-bio and some baby-quality fabric
conditioner. Put on Aga till nearly dry, then ironed using Faultless
(NAYY) spray starch.

EQ Color Palette Voting... by
Kate G.
At www.electricquilt.com you can vote to select the palette of the month. I've been working on a
Kimono quilt that uses the fairy frost fabrics. I also use Moda marbles all the time... and sure
would like to see them as the palette of the month next month.
You don't have to be own EQ to vote...

New Quilter's World Magazine by
Boca Jan
I just received my new QW Mag. today and have to say I can't keep looking at
it! Beautiful fall colored quilts throughout. I wish I could pick out such
great colors - I guess I should start making quilts with patterns in
books...lol If you have a chance, pick one up.

OT It's a matter of when by
melinda
Not if.
The news is not about my Grandma, she's gone into a hospice. The
cancer has spread to her liver and stomach and ahe's in a bit of pain
as the morphine isn't being absorbed properly so the docs are putting
in some sort of pump. The registrar at the hospice was talking to my
parents, they...

Linda Straw by
[email protected]
I have become interested in the work of Linda Straw and found her
website http://www.linda-straw-quilts.co.uk
The site outlines a little of her technique but I wondered if anyone
knew of any further information on it?
Many thanks,
Julia

OT Tripping Chipmunks by
NightMist
We have a family of chipmunks living under the siding at the front of
the house. At least that is where we assume they are living since
that is where they zip off to when we disturb them on our front porch.
We have been watching them for a couple of months now. You can see
them almost every...

Rocha marine quilt picture by
Toni Schneidt
Hey! I have the top almost done, no borders as of yet. I can't make up my
mind- Does the quilt need a flying geese border, or a HST border? I am
prepared for both, but need another opinion before I start cutting. I can
hear you, jeanne. Yeah, I thought I had my mind made up, too. But DH likes...

marine quilt border update by
Toni Schneidt
Okay, I have finally decided, thanks to your help, as well as my dh and
neighbors. I am doing a rail fence border with a dark blue marble, a dark
red crackle, and an off white with tiny dark blue stars all over. The
off-white will be in the middle. The rail; blocks will be 6", so each strip...

Simple way to bind a quilt? by
Jim Moore
Hello all:
I have just finished my 1st quilt. (almost). The only thing left is the
binding.
I have read several books on "How to bind a quilt" and really don't
understand any of them.
I used a walking foot to quilt with and it seemed to work fine. How ever I
am really stuck on how to hem...

Ok I'm back to share a happy thing. by
Fey
Had to take a break to get the house quilt sorted.
Finished the top and basted it to some batting and a backing fabric. I
have started in on the quilting. Now for the good part. I was
struggling with my lower end domestic machine - like if it would just
sew a stright line and not turn left when it...
