How to remove a glued-in shirt label by LurfysMa
Can anyone suggest a way to remove a glued-in label in the back of a polo short? I was given a very nice polo shirt for Christmas. Unfortunately, it has a rather annoying rubberized label glued in the back where the sewn-in labels usually are. I find all labels annoying and I always cut them out....

Simplicity #4926 Fish Costume by Donna McIntosh
Good morning, I made the fish costume for my 2nd DD and she loved it, but the problem was the inch-thick foam , couldn't sew it on my machine especially when 2 thicknesses had to be sewn. Ended up sewing most of it by hand. Was it just me or what? Thank goodness for whoever invented Transparent...

Does anyone know about the Singer 431G by SueJohnston
Does any one know anything about the Singer 431G? My sister's friend has offered it to me, but it probably needs a service, although it is working ok and is nice and clean. It still has the orginal case and attachments. It is very old and looks similar to a 401G. It also comes with four needle...

1 Attachment(s) Mystery curtains by Doug Kanter
My back door has a window, and I need the type of curtain which has a small rod at top and bottom, and is pulled tight between the two. I've gone into several stores (in the U.S.) looking for them, and unfortunately, teenage stupidity has invaded fabric and window treatment departments. The...

Quality ironing board cover by
Me again :) I am looking to replace the ironing board cover that came with my ironing board. I bought the board because it was the best construction- but the manufacturer cut corners with the cover. What should I look for to know that it is a good quality? I will not sew one, and I do not want...

I have two pregnant friends, one of whom is expecting twins. I'm planning to make some baby clothes for the happy couples' babies, and one thing I'd like to make is footed pajamas. I'm wondering if anyone here has made footed pajamas for babies or toddlers, and if so, if you would recommend a...

Scissor sharpening by Andy Dingley

Issey Miyake pattern #2651 by Princepessa
Has anyone made this jacket? I have been eyeing it for a while and have finally bought it, but not the fabric yet. I would love it if anyone would share their experiences (and nightmares) with this project. Thanks for your input. P.

Is fusible tape the answer for hemming pants? by Bill[_5_]
I have about 20 suits and a good 6 of them have at least one of the pants leg hems in some state of unsew-dom. For those of you who have this, it sometimes gets worse when you put the pants on because you can catch your foot in the gap and rip even more threads out. I will either have to leave...

Trouser Side Pockets by Jack Schmidling
I have made about ten pairs of trousers and shorts and have yet to get the side pockets right. The bottom joint where everything comes together never does and I have to mush over it with a fine zig zag. It looks so simple when studying a commercial pair but putting it into practice is a different...

Restaurant Bridezilla by [email protected]
RUN!!!! They're spreading, invading every aspect of one's life! My neighbors took me out for their anniversary dinner a week or so ago, (lovely twist which I truly appreciated). We were trying to have a quiet conversation, when a gaggle of young ladies arrived. They no sooner sat down, than they...

Cloth Nativity Set by [email protected]
I am looking for a pattern for a cloth nativity set. I recently saw the cutest cloth nativity set. However, the owner had misplaced the pattern and could not remember who the maker of the pattern was. She made them either in the late 70s or the 80s. These figures were about 8-10 inches in...
