What do you all do with your first efforts in a particular craft or style? I
suppose I could give them as gifts (some of my first needlepoints are hanging
in my relatives' houses and they are treasured, though I'm way beyond them in
skill now), or keep them around in a box...

looking for large halloween patterns by
Kim McAnnally
I have a customer who is searching for a large, detailed Halloween pattern.
She likes less of the cutesy type, more realistic. Here is an example of one
she likes, but we are trying to find something bigger if possible :)

My Grandmother's Work by
KDLark
Today we stopped by my mother's and the subject of my grandmother's crochet
came up again. I had either decided on my own or had been led to believe that
most of it had been lost or tossed out my my mother, so I was surprised when
Mom was the one who brought it up. She said that she had a couple...

Thread carries on model by
Brenda Lewis
I received the October "Just Cross Stitch" this weekend. Page 51 shows
a model which has three lines of writing, a house, and two more lines of
writing. The thread used for the saying is very obviously carried not
just from word to word, but from line to line. It is also carried from
the vine...

Stitching in Rotation by
Addie
There's been a lot of talk recently about people stitching in rotation.
What does that really mean?? If, as I assume, it means stitching one
project one day and then another the next or something like that, then how
long does it take to complete something??? Are there any tips out there to
make...

Peri Lusta FILO- any one know what this is! by
Linn Skinner
Cheryl:
This was a UK product (manufactured who knows where) and actually I found it
still on sale at Dainty (a UK wholesaler) a few years ago. More or less a
pack of assorted skeins on the low end of the price range. I too have some
bits of it from old work baskets.

Oh my!!! I had to wait to finish a baby afghan with Tigger on it. Baby
Leah, my new nice, arrived on 07-19-2003 ( 1 month early). Now, all I have
to do is put the backing on it (keep little fingers out of threads).

Hi,
I'm looking for finished models of either FanXstitch or PhoeniX
Stitchery designs that may have been done over the years either for
yourself or as models for PhoeniX Stitchery (I sent out a lot of model
packages but never got anything back) or for Nathalie Designs in the
UK. If anyone has...

Thanks Cheryl! by
Cristilyn Schoenborn
The floss you sent has arrived. I especially love the blue color, it's so
cheerful! I've been going through a rough patch lately, and the floss in
the mail brightened my day. I will certainly pay forward the act of
kindness when I get a chance.

In response to "what is this?" by
Gillian Murray
I accidentally hit the wrong key, and sent it directlyto koalamum. So I
thought I would resend via the group.
Marlitt is a rayon thread made by Anchor ( in Germany). I have no idea if it
is still made, but I came across a clearance in a Walmart ( Canada) that I
couldn't resist. I have several...

these patterns that have brand or type names that I don't understand.
If someone can help me decipher this, I would be grateful. First is

Just got a call from my father.... my mom is in intensive care right now with
severe breathing problems.
We had a family reunion last weekend, and the hotel room they were in was
growing mold. Naturally, Mom has a high sensitivity to molds, and didn't have
her prednisone with her, so she was...

Fairy afghan (Dianne) by
Donna D.
Well the Snow Drop fairy is just about complete. I have to say its the most
beautiful project I have ever stitched. I did games, tractors and trains. I
decided to use metallics for the wings and she is beautiful all glittery.
Thanks Dianne
