Help ... I'm at 'Point UFO' by
Sunny[_2_]
So I'm at the point of my project where I so often arrive -- I hate it. I can't stand the thought of anyone seeing it. I'm ready to chuck it into the UFO stack forever. But I can't. People are waiting for this one. I'm absolutely certain that it's horrible, ugly, unacceptable and has zero merit. All...

Log Cabin by
AuntK
I know most people really like this block/pattern. I have been
working on this one for what seems like months. I don't think I'll
ever do another one. I think the quilt will be stunning (at least I
hope so!) when it's done but all that trimming is NUTS! I'm only
using 2 fabrics - well 3 if you...

Project Advice Needed by
Steven Cook
As if I don't have enough projects going, I'm going to start another one.
I have the pattern Over the River, which someone else here has completed,
which is pieced blocks and embroidered panels. The panels are to be double
layers of fine quality broadcloth or something of a solid color. I will...

Thanks,

Rose Bush vs. Frou Frou Dog by
NightMist
I'll tell you in advance, the rose bush won.
A lady trying to organize a neighborhood watch stopped by and caught
daughter3 as she was coming home from school. This lady is older and
seems nice enough, she also had her yappy little dog on a leash with her.
The dog is one of those ones that...

OT found a hand set for my cell phone by
Susan Laity Price
My 96 year old mother couldn't relate to my cell phone. She could not
figure out how to hold it and talk or listen even if I held it up to
her ear. Putting it on speaker phone confused her too because she
didn't know where the sound was coming from and sometimes thought the
people were in the...

metal measuring tape snap purse by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Who started us on those? Where are the directions? I want to make a few
for our daughter's friends. I could probably figure it out by looking at
the one that's still here but it sure would help if I knew where the online
directions were. ( I had no idea that anybody was particularly excited...

update, 9/16/2011 547pm by
off kilter [email protected]
We got home around noon, had lunch, and all took naps (except for
Thomas who doesn't nap...ever). She is doing well, no pins, but a 3/4
plaster splint/cast wrapped in gauze, wrapped in an ace bandage,
wrapped in surgical tape.
We had a fight going under the gas - fortunately, she only hurt...

OT Do you beat your head on the doctor? by
NightMist
....or do you just beat the doctor?
I don't know about you, but hearing a doctor say, "Oh my, you are in
trouble." while palpitating your abdomen, is definitely on my top 10 list
of things I do not want to hear.
I walked in to the newly expanded clinic because menopause is kicking my
butt, DH...

Could use luck, prayers and energy for finishing quilting project by
Sunny[_2_]
I promised to have these banners finished by October for my church. Um, not even close yet. While they aren't terribly time intensive, they do require an investment of energy and attention, both of which are in horribly short supply right now. Encouragement, folks, I could use some encouragement....

Breathing a quilt-related sign of relief by
Louise in Iowa
Three years ago my niece was getting married, and I started a quilt
using fabrics in the colors they had selected for their wedding. By
"started," I mean I bought the fabric! Well, life got in the way, and I
just didn't get around to working on it until about a year ago.
Our guild is having its...

If anyone is a member, I just found out my good friend Dawn Farrier

be a guest speaker for your guild. She will also be teaching at Houston IQF! Not bad
for someone who hates to fly ;)
If you see her, please tell he "hi", and...

Going away to quilt by
Lizzy Taylor
The day has finally arrived! Last month I thought I wouldn't be able to
go, but my dad is more stable and my mum tells me I should go, so
tomorrow I am off to Spain for a week of quilting, sunshine and good
food. Our tutor will be Yvonne Brown and we will be doing things with
heat guns and...
