I am interested in contacting people or groups that make handmade

Today's glass humor by
Moonraker
A man was being inverviewed for a job in a stained glass studio.
"Can you bounce your running pliers off your workbench, spin in a circle and
catch them?" the interviewer asks.
"Sure," he replies, confused.
"Can you quick draw your fid out of your belt, twirl it and slip it back
into your belt...

sandcarving discussions take place here?

string cutting of bottles by
Cydrome Leader
I want to cut a bottle.
I've spoken to people who used the alcohol/string technique, and read
stuff on the internet about it, but cannot get it to work.
The descriptions of how to do it are vague at best when it comes to how
much string to use, or what type, and how saturated it must be.
How...

Satined Glass Grinder Recommendations? by
Max Moor
Hi All,
I'm brand new to stained glass. I'd like to get a decent grinder
without spending much money. I've seen lots of ads for various brands under
$100, but not a lot of objective reviews.
At the risk of starting a religous argument, can folks give me some
pointers and...

Looking for 100 lb. pattern kraft paper source by
[email protected]
We have just exhausted what I had hoped to be a lifetime (since 1975)
supply of large 5 foot x 100 lb. weight brown kraft paper sheets. I
can't find a replacement source anywhere.
Large paper distributors in NYC and Boston got driven outa town? Local
print shop had some heavy weight white sheets...

soldering stained glass with hardware store solder? by
n2dwoods
Hi, just curious if anyone out there solders stained glass with the
cheaper solder you can find in the plumbing dept of home depot? They
only carry lead-free solder, and it's $6 for a pound, yet in the hobby
stores the lead-free solder specifically for stained glass is over
$20. Is it the same...
