Bernina zig-zag by
Joe and Maria
I am working on a raw edge appliqué quilt. I am zig-zaging around each
piece to cover up the raw edge. My question is if there is a trick to
knowing if the machine is going to zig or zag when I start sewing again
after locking off the previous stitches (with a few back stitches). I get
the foot...

Deepest gratitude by

Everybody,
I'd been thinking for a week or two it was time to get back online and
rejoin rctq ... and unfortunately MeSue's death has been the final
push to do that.
I wanted to thank everybody for all the cards and good wishes that you
sent me in the past few months, both before and after my...

Do you put batting in your pieces, or do you just bat the entire quilt?

Happy Dance - Daughters First Sewing Machine by
Teresa in Colorado
I'm sending my DD her first sewing machine tomorrow - an entry level Bernina
1008.
I've also packed a small mat, a rotary cutter, short ruler, and a bunch of
thread.
Fabric will follow later - it won't fit into the box.
She is working on a quilt for her DBF - a quilt she designed in her head...

How shd I wash and repair antique quilt? by
Kate Dicey
QuiltShopHopper wrote:
I found a beautiful depression era quilt this weekend, and it really needs
to be washed. There are a few worn and frayed spots. There is no label; it
was clearly a utility quilt, and I learned a small amount of info about its
maker and owner. I want to clean it...

what to do with quilts by
DebsPrintOnIt
Don't say send them to me.
I make a quilt because I like the look and then I sometimes don't know what to
do with it. I made a "Deb" quilt from an RCTQ swap that sits in the closet.
Now I am finishing a "My Favorite Things" quilt and am set to take a bargello
class. These quilts are uniquely...

lovely niece, her DH and their DD. First time I'd met the DD,

OT - Stress management by
Kathy Applebaum
Boy, my friends are full of them today...
When you've had a rough day, here's a stress management technique that
really works.
1. Picture yourself near a stream.
2. Birds are softly chirping in the cool mountain air.
3. No one but you knows your secret place.
4. You are in total seclusion from the...

OT How to make a fool of yourself! LOL by
The HairyFacedOnes 'N Me
Go ahead, make a fool of yourself....... I sure did. This is going to
drive you crazy!
While sitting in your chair, lift your right foot off the floor and make
clockwise circles.
Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right
hand.
Your foot will change direction!
