Cable abbreviations by
Sharon
Hi
I'm hoping someone here can help me.
I am just learning how to knit cables and am attempting an Irish Knit
pillow, so I can practice doing cables. My problem is that I don't
understand some of the abbreviations and these are not listed under
abbreviations in the pattern. The abbreviations I...

Bernat and Spinrite? by
Denise
I went to my local Hobby Lobby to get in on the sale.... is Spinrite the
same brand as Bernat? I didn't see any "Spinrite" brand anywhere and
just had to deduce that it was Bernat's parent company or something.
Thanks,
Denise

What kind of yarn would this be? by
Bryan
"Wintuk Knitting Worsted Yarn"
I of course will just make this vest with what I have stashed around the
house, regular WW red heart cheap yarn, caron simply soft, or my fluffly
soft RH plush :-)
Just curious what that yarn should look/feel like in comparison to what I'm
used to.
Thanks ya'all

My Jan. FO by
Janise Ross
I don't have too much to report, aside from squares, squares and more
squares! ;-) Make that 4 squares, 1 baby hat, and 1 Eros 1 Ball Scarf.
But, I also sewed grippy soles on the felted clogs I finished in August and
sewed a button on another finished project.

To Cher about 6x6 by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Hi Cher!
Do not worry about the situation. The envelope is written
already. And the first square is finished. The second one is
still on needles. Must finish it soon....Oh dear...This can
be the first time CNN must put me on hold.
Best: Pirjo

really OT! Flaming by
Johanna Koski
I've been thinking about this for a long time now, and finally decided
to write it here. About flaming. How come in this ng there really aren't
that many flamewars, or atleast I haven't seen them. I don't think that
people have announced that they've blacklisted someone either. Or am I
blacklisted...

Weather on the prairies by
Shillelagh
I went out to bingo last night - (yeah, bingo), and because I don't go out
often at night, I just couldn't believe how freaking cold it was. There was
a weather warning out because of the wind and the wind chill..... The
windchill when I got up this a.m. was -45°C (-49F).
Even with gloves on my...

6x6 woes by
Jenn Vanderslice
Just to let my January and February partners know: the only reason that
I haven't gotten your squares out in the mail is because I'm without
manila envelopes to mail them in. I usually have some...but seems I
forgot to replenish when I used the last one. Other than that, I have
the yarn and the...

a note to Sept. Oct. & Nov. 6 x 6 exchange people by
Noreen's Knit*che
While it is understood that life and circumstances can cause havoc and
turmoil, the 6 x 6 ongoing square exchange *is* an obligation.
CNN has received reports that quite a few people have not received squares
from their partners.
While November can still be considered "up-in-the-air".... it...

Looking for knitting scarf pattern with heart trim by

While shopping a few days ago, I saw another shopper wearing a
hand-knit scarf that I fell in love with. I have been hunting since
then in vain for the pattern and was wondering if it anyone else is
familar with it. The scarf is knitted, a plain pattern, wide but not
too long, meant to be warn...

A request from the 6 x 6 team, aka CNN by
Noreen's Knit*che
When you put up a received report, could you *please* also include what
*month's* exchange you are referring to?
We now have FIVE lists of exchangees, and it sure would make our job a lot
easier not having to go through Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, and Feb lists just to
check you off.
Thanks,
Noreen

Knitting with fine cotton by
Amber
I'm working on a christening gown using Coats Opera size 20 cotton on 2 mm
needles.
Though I'm usually a tight knitter, I'm finding I need to give the working
yarn (thread, really, I guess) a little tug after each stitch to keep my
tension even and stitches tidy. Not only is this slowing me...
