Toni Schneidt
Sorry I left you high and dry Saturday night, Larisa!
Sounds like things got worse. I'm sending healing thoughts for you all.
Sunday the In-Laws came over. Then, we made the mistake of opening an email
in front of Autumn. It was one of those that you find the red dot in each
pic, then one with a...

double ended pins by
Boca Jan
I saw someone using pins that had two sharp ends, made especially for
holding open a seam. Has anyone used these? Do you know where I could get
some?

hug for manager? by
Irrational Number
My manager, Jackie, is someone I've known
for many years, but I do not know her well
at all. She's based in a different state
than I, but I've always liked and respected
her. She got diagnosed with breast cancer
a month ago and had an operation two weeks
ago. She now needs chemo and...

New discovery of an old quilt by
Karen Garza
My mother called me this morning to tell me that she found an old quilt in
with my grandmother's things. (the grandmother that left this world last
month)
My mother said that she thinks the quilt was made by my grandmother's mother
or grandmother. The pattern is lone star, and I'm waiting to see...

AliceW
If anyone lives near Burlington, NJ there is a new quilt shop that just
opened on the main street (High Street, I believe). It's called "Olde City
Quilts" and it's worth the drive! Lots of wonderful fabrics and they also
give classes on using their long arm. Once qualified, they charge...

OT - Happy Thanksgiving by

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my RCTQ friends!
I'm not cooking the turkey this year. We are heading into the city for
turkey dinner at one of the daughter's houses this afternoon! I'm on desert
detail. So for this year we have apple pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and sex in
the pan. Should be varied...

Sewing machine question - Janome Jem by
Ginger in CA
I am thinking of buying a Janome Jem Gold 660. My question is: do you
have one, do you like it, would you recommend it to your friend? If you
had one but didn't like it, why?
I am going to downsize my machine count, but have been thinking of
buying one of these to go to retreat/everyday use. My...

Sweatshirt Saga - OT by
Sherry Starr
Thanks for everyone's advice on splitting a sweatshirt up the middle, and
stitching it. I put stabilizer under it, and did a very close zig zag
stitch. Polly, you talked about the sweatshirts stretching, well, they were
already pretty stretched. These are obviously at least 2-3 years old. ...

Hand piecing by
Hanne Gottliebsen
So, since I'll be doing some stupid amount of travelling this Autumn, I
have decided to take up hand piecing.
My hand applique is so slow and requires too much effort to be done
without utmost concentration (I'm a beginner!), but I did try hand
piecing a little, and it seems so much...

Up for grabs: Flannel by
Debi Matlack
I hate to sew with the stuff and will send it on to whomever would like it.
It's about 4 large scraps, maybe a half yard or so, blues and pinks, great
for anyone in need of baby quilt material?
