Long time no see! by
Erin
Hej!
I still read rcty but haven't posted in AGES, so I thought I'd check
in with y'all (yes, you can move me from South Carolina to Sweden, but
you cannot REMOVE South Carolina from me!).
I have crocheted several more shoulderbags using Eskimo yarn and then
felting them in the washer and dryer....

Tams - my new addiction by
BB
I just finished my second go at making these. I've been using the book
Knitted Tams by Mary Rowe for guidance and sometimes charts. These
pics are pre-blocking, so they don't have the shape and are not yet
evened out.

doll clothes patterns by
myswendy
Hi guys!
I hope this isn't posting twice. Oh well, sigh. :)
I have decided to try to knit a winter wardrobe (I know, spring is
flying in fast and I better get a move-on) for my SIL's doll
collection, primarily Cissy, Alex, and Coquette. Does anyone know if
there are any free patterns out there...

Cable Charts by
hesira
Hi Everyone.
I was hoping that someone more experienced with reading cable charts
would help me figure something out. I'm making the Cabled Cardigan
from VK winter 2006. I'm working on the front left panel. The cable
pattern is staggered, and there are 4 stitch cables and 6 stitch
cables. The...

Double-ended crochet hooks by
Harlan Messinger
It occurs to me that if I had a crochet hook with a hook on both ends,
then it would be so much easier to fix a ladder that has both knit and
purl stitches. Each time a purl stitch sat on top of a knit stitch or
vice versa, all I'd have to do is slide the shaft through the stitch and
work with...

Pics of FOs by
Sue W
I just posted photos of a couple of finished objects.
This is an aran sweater I finished recently, it's from the only book (The
best of Knitters Arans and Celtics) which I've ever made more than one thing
from!

Twisted Cord untwists by
Cece
Helen ST, I think I've figured out how to do that twisted cord!
Take one length of yellow and one length of black, lay them together,
and tie them together at both ends. Now you have a circle. Put a big
toe through the circle and pull the yarn up so you have a very narrow
ellipse; pull the yarn...

knitting assistance--new here by
Karlisa
Hi,
My name is Lisa and I've been lurking and reading here for quite some time.
I'm hoping that you all will be able to help me or perhaps direct me to
where I might find help in a book, etc. for a knitting problem. I made a
hat on double pointed needles and it wasn't until after I had nearly...

FA: collectible Needlework Magazines by

I have put up for auction on ebay.ca some needlework magazines from
1978-1979. They are in excellent condition and still have some great
patterns in them. They are a mixture of filet crochet, knitting,

destash - update by
WoolyGooly
Howdy folks. The destash is off, for a variety of reasons. My hope
was to rehome a *lot* of unused stuff from my stash in a short amount
of time so I could flip some Sweet Maria's store credit on a bigger
coffee roaster. For various reasons my plan isn't going to work right
now (desperation...

Question for you sockknitters - anyone knit "diabetic" socks? by
the Furrsome Threesome
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend stitch patterns that would be
appropriate for diabetic socks.
I've scooped some cute Lorna's Laces on Ebay, in this wonderful "Sassy
Stripe" that is hot fuschia and tangerine. It'll go great with Mom's
hot pink Crocs on her bright red scooter that's waiting...

New Pics by
Shillelagh
Many of you will remember me rambling on and on about that one and only Aran
I've ever done. While at my DIL's yesterday I got her to bring the sweater
out so I could take new and better pictures of it. The old one in my Yahoo
album is pretty crumby since due to bad lighting or something it...

Alpaca and lace vent by
No Name
Went to "Stitches" today.
I did not know there was that much overpriced, super-soft yarns in the US;
much less that they could all be packed into one giant convention hall.
Every alpaca in the world must be as bald as a marine recruit this weekend.
The sponsor was launching a promoting a new book...

Info for extremely thin yarns please by
myswendy
Hi! I am new to this group and boy do I need help! I am trying to do
some tiny knitting for the first time for a doll dress. The pattern
calls for Peluche fur yarn as well as a spool of Lurex yarn. I am
having a terrible time finding this stuff. I can't even seem to find a
table that will tell me...
