Thankyou for the Anniversary Wishes by
Brian D
Hi the
Thankyou all so much for the well wishes.
My husband sent me flowers and I was so thrilled. We've never really
celebrated our anniversary too much so they did mean a lot too me. I suppose
as we get older these things mean more to us than they did when we were
younger. I love my husband...

No pressure, I know you have a lot going on.... but have your 6 x 6's to me

Leisure arts Pooh and Friends crochet toys by
Melissa Da Silva
Hi all,
I recently picked up the Pooh and Friends crochet pattern booklet at Walmart
and would like to crochet them but can't locate the colors that are needed.
Anyone ever stitched these? What brand of yarn did you use? I know Mary
Maxim sells yarn kits for these little guys but I'm wondering...

I've died and gone to heaven!! Our national TV network - CBC - had a
wonderful program on tonight - it was the highlights of the Brit Classical
Music awards. They didn't show the actual awards themselves, but some of
the wonderful stars making music...... and lucky me - what with having

Wheels are home! by
SlinkyToy
I don't have my great wheel reassembled, but man oh man, did Bill do a
good job overhauling the old girl. He had to drill the spokes and
re-peg them with dowels, and told me he had to put the wheel in his
steambox with weights on it to bring it back into something resembling
true so it would quit...

cashmere yarn by
Violetcobra
I wonder if anyone knows what the going rate is for cashmere yarn. I
have seen 120 yds in local shops for $23.00 (US). What would a really
good deal be for a baby hat, something rather fine, maybe 20 sts. to a
4"/10cm?

Flesh colored 4 ply worsted yarn? by
Confuddled
I've been searching for a company/retailer that makes or sells flesh
colored 4 ply worsted yarn, without success. Any help in locating this
product would be appreciated, or any suggestions on what brand/color
can be substituted for flesh color.

Wallaby pix by
SlinkyToy
I've finally managed to get a couple of shots of my boy wearing his
Wallaby. For those of you who have made this, what do you think of
picking up stitches from the inside, say just below the bottom of the
placket, and knitting in a second layer that doubles as a turtleneck
type thing? Yesterday...

In search of bulk buttons by
Jake Wildstrom
I have this Very Clever Project idea. But it wants a lot of yarn
buttons. A lot of lot of buttons. On the order of 350 of 'em. Being a
poor student (with limited patience for individually-packaged items),
I'm not really willing to buy 350 $1 buttons. There are those
'pound-packs' you can get in...

Hello all new and would-be sockknitters... just a quick note, there is a
great article with lots of advice for newbie sockknitters entitled:
Socks 101
in:
Knit 'n Style, December 2003 issue.
The article is by Pat Harste, and she starts out by saying:
Don't get cold feet thinking about knitting...
