My Saturday adventure by
Sunny[_2_]
I guess I did my job. She left with a mountain of my fabric (LOL), a
borrowed cutting mat, Alex Anderson's "Begin Quilting" and a list of
tools she absolutely must have. I showed her how to straighten the
edge of fabric, measure the strip, square up the ruler and cut with
steady pressure (away from...

Silly question by
Cindy Schmidt
Have you ever stuck yourself with a pin and have it immediately turn purple?
Can't tell you how many times I've stuck myself while making these flags but
now that I'm almost done, I went to grab a pin tonight and caught it the
wrong way and now the whole tip of my finger is purple and it...

finished project by
Karen, Queen of Squishies[_2_]
I finished a wall-hanging for a friend. I used a technique called
fused-edge applique. I liked it well enough to try it again, and my
friend LOVED her little bird. You can see it at this link. It's on
facebook, but I *think* you do not have to log in or anything to see my
pictures...

Ping: Laurie G. in CA by
Bobbie Sews More
I saw on the USA news last night where CA had passed a law banning plastic
bags but I didn't catch just when this will start. Do you already have your
re-useable bags ready? When will it start?
Barbara in SC, wondering when other states will do the same, and already
re-using cloth bags a lot

The 3rd of a series of girly bags. by
John
This one has an oval base and and outside pocket between the handle
straps at the bottom square. It is capable of being used as a shoulder
bag or a tote. This is the last of this series that I am going to do,
with the exception of the mystery piece, which will not be offered for
auction, but kept...

Quilting Now? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
What are you stitching just now?
I have a jungle symphony on the design wall: lions and tigers and
bears. An elephant, 3 zebras and all manner of kangaroo spots and jungle
greenery. The arrangement was just much too 'expected' so I tossed in the
Easter Bunny.
Ah. just right.
And...

Pineapple Blocks by
Sally Swindells
I have just found a Youtube video which was filmed at the Quilt market
in Minneapolis. It shows a demo from Karin Hellaby's latest technique
book, Pineapple Plus. NAYY but she is the owner of my LQS, Quilter's
Haven, and it seems a clever way to do...

PING:Nel by

Nel, you are STILL my inspiration in the clearing and cleaning of the
sewing/creating space. I have been s-l-o-w-l-y cleaning /clearing my space.
(I still have TOO MUCH! Another story for 'nother time! ) I CAN see some
improvement. Now my question is: what to do with the last bits when you are...

The second mostly girly bag by
John
As promised; The second of probably many of the girly bag series of
totes/bags/ carryalls/ and mystery bags, that I am doing for one of my
wife's fundraisers. This one has a greater emphasis on the colors of
the 9 patch pattern and less on the dividing sashing of peachy pink,
which tended to...

OT Karma by

Donna, from what I understand about Eris, just start a war. Blood
dripping on the ground seems to be an open invitation to her to drop
in. ;)
And on a serious note, I'm sorry about your nephew.

Ok so I didn't mark this OT because I desperately need your help
because I miss you all so very much and I'm so darn frustrated and
want to get back to the group. I MISS YOU ALL. So here's the problem.
I got a new computer a few months back and it seems that Microsoft has
totally revamped MS...

MN Shop Hop by
Julia in MN[_5_]
Did anyone else here do any part of the annual Minnesota Shop Hop? It's
an annual state-wide hop that takes place the first part of August. This
was the first year I did any of it. A friend and I hit 6 shops near us
in the southeastern part of the state. My dear sweet husband let me stop
at 1...

Warning.... by

Starting to quit itching... finally. And my eye actually opened this
morning -- although is still slightly swollen. Two days into the prednisone
appears to be helping!
Thanks for all the wonderful information.

OT Polly's Pity Party by
Polly Esther[_5_]
You are all invited. Dress: very casual. We have replaced all of the
light bulbs with 25 watt dim ones and no one will be able to see what you're
wearing anyway. Today's trip was to the dermatologist. There is a burned
off place (yeah, right ... they call it 'frozen' but that's only for...
