Always Something by
Bobbie Sews more
DH has been out of the hospital for a week. For a few months we have been
talking about taking up the carpet and putting wood floors down. A few days
ago we went and got most of the floor at Home Depot----the rest is going to
be ordered. Right now we are in the middle of taking up the carpet...

More quilts + science by
Nann
http://genomequilts.com/genome.php
An idea for a quilt that's "uniquely you," as they say.
The concept is similar to the triangle designs based on Douat's
Treatise, as popularized (among quilters) in Hooworth & Rolfe's
Spectacular Scraps"

Pieced or unpieced on the bottom? by
Susan Laity Price
In Edna's post about uneven flying geese there was a discussion about
which should be on the bottom, the pieced section or the unpieced
section. I have always heard that the larger (in this case longer)
piece should be on the bottom because the feed dogs help ease in the
extra fabric. Alex Anderson...

It went well by
Sunny[_2_]
I guess I did my job. She left with a mountain of my fabric (LOL), a
borrowed cutting mat, Alex Anderson's "Begin Quilting" and a list of
tools she absolutely must have. I showed her how to straighten the
edge of fabric, measure the strip, square up the ruler and cut with
steady pressure (away from...

OFF Topic: by
Butterflywings
No surgery.
Postponed for a good 3 months for now. I was working my way up in hours of
walking without das boots.....snapped the bone just above the 'plate' area.
I was being extremely careful and KNOW I didn't bang it or drop anything on
it. In the long run, I'm glad it was that and NOT a...

Enough! Praying better (and calmer) weather will soon be on their way. Ya

Don't do this by
Polly Esther
Okay. Here's the plan. While you are out shopping for embroidery floss
to match the comforter so you can practice your buttonhole stitching on the
long cut, you might as well buy one of those cardboard, sort of accordion
fold things to put on top of your bedding. I had to use our bed for...
