Newbie....Hello by
sgrube
Hi, my name is Shannon and I am very new to quilting. I would love to
learn how. I have
my sisters sewing machine, which is a Kenmore Mini Ultra 3/4 Size
Sewing Machine with 6 Stitches Plus Buttonhole. I am also new to
sewing, so I am learning a lot of things as I go.
I have made a rag quilt and...

".......This scrappy ( and how!) quilt originated from a design by
Jolyn Olson in Am Patchwork Dec 01 that Butterfly sent me. Wonderful
how a nice stack of older quilting magazines can be such a blessing.

3 1/2 month old quilter :o) by
Susie
Hi everyone,
I've written here a few times. I mostly lurk to see what I can learn.
I started quilting on Oct. 11th and I think I might be addicted. :o)
I've done a pillow, a few table runners, placemat, a Santa decoration and
six various blocks.
I started a mystery quilt on New Years Eve. It was...

New quilt project by
John
I think I must be going out of my mind. My wife and I are going back
to California for our 35th wedding anniversary, this summer. We, of
course, will get together with my 4 brothers and sisters. I am
thinking about doing 4 identical quilts to take back and give to each
of them as a surprise gift....

New quilt layout, quilting classes, new pictures by
Ann
Remember my dilemna last month on my colour choice for my quilt layout? I
had laid the blocks out and re-arranged and looked at it for a couple of
days and it still didn't do a thing for me. Well I got rid of the green and
brown blocks and replaced them with burgundy blocks and different...

OT Dessert by

This is fun and very easy! No cheating now. Pick your dessert, then
look
to see what psychiatrists think about you! After taking this dessert
personality test, send this e-mail on to others, but when you do, be
sure to
put your choice of dessert in the subject line. ALSO, SEND IT TO...

Good news post: On/off Topic by
Butterflywings
Since you'all have listened to me for the past umpteen years,,,,,,,,,I
thought it'd be fair to post GOOD NEWS.
Had my yearly check-up, and it went well.
BEST PART: I can walk again--more than 'just do, and then sit again.....but
actually WALK FOR 5 MINUTES before I have to sit and rest. No, I...

Will my quilt keep me warm? by
KittyG
I'm finishing up my Seminole lap quilt. There are some areas with some
heavy quilting that are ending up quite thin. (All cotton top and back,
Batting is 80/20).
I know this will soften up when I wash it, but will this affect how warm the
quilt is?
Or should I quilt less for a somewhat thicker...

OT Universal Truths by
Paul & Suzie Beckwith
DH just read these out from his WWII re-enactment forum, so I just had
to share... they are kinda male-based but funny anyways!
Universal Truths
1. Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones.
2. At the end of every party there is always a girl crying.
3. One of the most awkward things...

Adventures in machine quilting by
Edna Pearl
I quilted a bunch of straight lines with a walking foot for the first time
today, and found it quite . . . erm . . . challenging. I am pretty sure
that the solution to most of my problems is practice, practice, practice,
but I thought I'd make a few notes here and see if anybody has any words...

Saving New Year's Resolutions by
polly esther
Last year, I resolved to do something in the pineapple pattern. I didn't.
I resolved to do something using a toile. I haven't. So just think of the
time I've saved. Did any of you resolve to try something new and actually
do it?

ot OT prescriptions by
Polly Esther[_5_]
The facts here have been disguised to protect the innocent (not that I know
anybody all that innocent). An elderly friend of ours is paying $ 800 per
month for her medications. There are no generic substitutes and her
miserable tight-wad prescription insurance company won't pay a dime to help...

Steam engine fabric by
Julia in MN
I was at a quilting retreat the last 2 days and one of the women asked
the rest of us to keep our eyes open for fabric with steam engines on
it. Have any of you ever seen anything like that? I do plan to do some
Internet searching when I have a little more time, but thought someone
might have seen...

What are you doing? by
Bobbie Sews More
I am recovering from allergies that have stopped my ears up, so I am doing
the minimum around the house and not talking on the phone. I need to take
my SM to be repaired. No sewing is happening! So I have been working some
in the sewing room to help get things ready for when the Pfaff will...
