Senior Love by
LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
There were these two elderly people living in a Florida mobile home park. He
was a widower and she a widow. They had known one another for a number of
years.
One evening there was a community supper in the big activity center. These
two were at the same table, across from one another. As the meal...

What do you think of this sewing machine on eBay??? by
Jessica Jones
I don't know anything about antique sewing machines, but I saw this one on
eBay near where I live, what do you think of it? It caught my eye because
(right now) it's cheap and looks cool.
Thanks!
Jessica

new Christmas deadline by
Musicmaker
Well, my Mom's visiting me for the first time since ds graduated, and
already she's made some specific requests - a quilt for a bed in her guest
room and 2 new Christmas stockings. Preferably before they die, said Mom
with a sideways look. sigh.

OT - Apocalyptica CD by
Kathy Applebaum
Gosh, I sure wish my poor brain could remember who it was here that pointed
me towards Apocalyptica, but again, many thanks!
For those of you who don't know, Apocalyptica is a group of four excellent
Finnish cellists who play heavy metal on their cellos. Sounds weird, but
it's really fabulous....

Maybe....(not off topic but long) by
Karlee in Kansas
Maybe I got taken in by Joyce's plea for supplies. Wait, that isn't a good
use of words. I guess what I'm trying to say is her plea tugged at me.
Maybe she is a troll, and maybe she isn't. And maybe, just maybe, I'm
going to spill too many of my guts right now and suffer the flamage for it,
but...

OT - Searching for a Quilter in Thailand by

That Iron Question Again by
MJ
I bought a Rowena last Christmas and it turned out to be defective. So
I'm in the market again. I'd like one that has automatic shut off,
but maybe 30 minutes instead of the 6 or 8 the Rowenta had. Of
course, good heat and lots of steam.
Anyone got any suggestions?
thanks, Midge

By way of explanation.... by
Lynne Van
Okay m'friends (and i do consider many of you as friends):
Every so often, we have a troll roll in here. (For the newbies, a
troll is someone who comes here (or to any list) to make trouble.) The
pattern is invariably the same. The person posts a poorly written note,
asking for advice about...

Carolyn's Suggestion by
Lynne Van
Carolyn...I missed your note somehow, earlier. This is a
wonderful idea. I can certainly attest to the fact that many of
these folks would love a cozy quilt, as so many of them are
lonely and away from their own possessions. And by giving them
locally, we know where they are going.
For those who...

Quilting for Charity by

Making quilts for charity, aka Pro Bono Quilting, has been 'in

options, take a look at Susan Druding's site at About Quilting.

Nine patch quilt blocks by
Beth Pierce
The other day a neighbor leant me her video by Marti
Mitchell. It didn't show a title as my neighbor taped it
herself and the title picture was not taped. Although the
video was outdated by the clothing Marti wore, the tips were
excellent. I learned a lot there, especially about nine
patch quilt...

OT - Oatmeal for baths by
frood
Poor little Giles is covered in hives. She is itchy all over. I know oatmeal
baths are soothing, and I can buy some Aveeno bath stuff, but I have oats in
my cupboard right now and was wondering if I could use those? Do I need to
put them in a muslin bag? Would a paper coffee filter work if I staple...

red hats. Well, they have been searching for hats. I already had
7 red hats.
Yesterday I stopped at two thrift stores to see what...
