Frame loom Weaving Question by
Amy Isleb
Hi,
I am new to weaving, and have a few books on the subject from which I
am learning. I have built a simple but large frame loom, with nails as
warp holders, for my first project - a simple two color (horizontal
stripe) scarf. Well, none of my books say how to exactly deal with
running out of...

Bernat website membership by
Amy Schemidt
I recently went to the Bernat website and signed up for the free
membership required to view their free patterns. My membership has
never been activated. I tried it a couple of times with 2 different
e-mail addresses to no avail. I am disappointed because it seems like
they have a lot of great...

wpi measure for Cebelia 40? by
Anastasia Luettecke
I'm trying to decide if I want to do a particular pattern with some lovely
100% silk I picked up from my LYS the other day. The wpi measure on the
cones is 2/60. Is Cebelia comparable? Somehow I think my stuff is probably
thinner than that. I may need to just buck up and pick a pattern (or...

STOP!!!! by
Anastasia Luettecke
I come here to read posts about yarn. NOT to be thrust back into high
school-level arguments about who said or did what in the PAST.
Let's all grow up, ignore people whom we don't like, and get back to the
yarn stuff.

Shoddy customer service... by
Anastasia Luettecke[_2_]
I ordered 15 skeins of yarn online back in early February from Knitting
Warehouse.com. It took awhile for me to receive them, but that's not a big
deal in my book. I'll wait for a good deal. I ordered by placing a number
next to the proper name and picture of the brand and color I wanted. Once...

Socks - the more outrageous the better by
Andee
Hi all
I am looking for outrageous socks to knit. I have managed to spin a
reasonable amount of yarn (fairly fine!) and want to make a totally
different sock - not one that will necessarily be worn! Has anyone got any
ideas or could you point me in the right direction? So far nothing is...

OT Update on my Mum by
Andee
I am so sorry to hear about your bereavement Christine. I have been through
the same only 3 years ago and whilst the pain does not go away it becomes
easier to live with. I am so glad that I stayed with my Mother until the
end and I have drawn enormous strength from her at her passing. I hope...

Can anyone help me with the different needle sizes? There was a very useful
post some time ago and although I printed it and put it away safe I can't
find the printout. (Tidiness never pays :-) ! ) Also what are the
different types of yarn in the US and the comparable yarn in the UK eg.

Best yarn for consistant dye lots? by
Andie Straus
Hi all,
I'm crocheting an afghan and the gauge swatch came out fine, but now I
realize the final dimensions are going to be a quite a bit smaller
than I'd like, so I'd like to add a few more rows. Unfortuantely, I
purchased only enough yarn (Plymouth Encore Knitting Worsted) to
complete the...

Kumihimo by
Andy Dingley
Any advice for a kumihimo beginner ?
I began with some woodturning, as I'm more used to working wood than
fabrics. So that produced my marudai and a set of bobbins.
First attempts have used cotton embroidery floss and the simple 16
thread rotating pattern described...
