Home again. by
Olwyn Mary
Turns out I have severe bronchitis, not just a cold. However, as the
hospital is so crowded, and I have had all the ultrasounds, x-rays,
round the clock breathing treatments etc., plus my new nebulizer arrived
today, plus I have a retired husband to help out, the doctor released me
with a handful...

Totally, perhaps annoyingly, OT! question for Brits by
spampot[_2_]
So, Mary F & I finally stopped gabbing about Yorkshire, and lo & behold
I have another question that I figure the variety of folks here might be
able to shed some light on.
First of all, if you haven't heard of the Monty Pythons referring to
little old ladies as "pepperpots," you can stop...

Not Likely
The last time we were at the vet's for shots, she told us that Buffy had a
cancerous tumor in her stomach and that all rules were out the window now...
we should just feed Buffy whatever she wanted whenever she wanted it until
it came the time that she stopped eating completely herself and that...

Wooly by
Katherine
Continuing with dog news, I wanted to share our latest about Wooly. As
some of you know, when I came home in February, we found out that
Wooly was developing cataracts. Well, when I went back after Easter,
we discovered that she had diabetes. It must have been developing for
some time, as she is...

OFF TOPIC.. just me rambling by
Not Likely
I don't have an outdoor thermometer, but yesterday was SO hot and humid I
actually went into the pool THREE times. The first time was about 5 pm,
then while preparing supper (just a LOT of cut vegetables and dip... it was
far too hot to think about cooking) and while I was eating I found myself...

The one book you would have in your knitting bag? by
Padishar Creel
Howdy,
I have looked over a few books that I think would be good to keep in
my knitting bag. My current favorite is The Knitting Answer Book:
Solutions to Every Problem You'll Ever Face; Answers to Every Question
You'll Ever Ask.
Which title would you want in your bag if'n you could only have...

Moth help! by
Mary Fisher
Today I took out a shawl which a daughter knitted for me some years ago from
her own spun Hebridean black wool from the two Heb ewe lambs I gave her.
She'd chosen the stitch 'candlelight' because I made beeswax candles.
It had huge holes in it and it's unsalvageable.
Does anyone know of any...

Did someone mention... by
spampot[_2_]
....Addi needles for lace? I thought I saw a mention of it but can't
find it (that may of course be due to the migraine drugs). I ask
because I think I mentioned trying to make a scarf with some beautiful
two-ply cashmere laceweight that is slack-twisted enough that no matter
what needles I...

Have a look at this creation! by
Shillelagh
The woman that made this hat has made many other arty things and I think
they're fantastic! She posts on another group I read and I thought some of
the people here might enjoy it, Mirjam in particular.

She has a fairly large website, so if you want to see...

Traditional Dutch Fishermen's Sweaters by
Vintage Purls
Those of you who enjoy the history of fishermen's sweaters may be
interested in a book I recently acquired: "Knitting from the
Netherlands" by Henriette van der Klift-Tellegen. I've put a little
"book review" of sorts on my site if you are...

Witchy Pic by
Erin
Hej!
Aud, you should even be able to read the text (since it's in Swedish)
and those of you who read German can probably get the gist of it.
Those who don't can just have fun looking at the pic! I think I look
like one of the Norns untangling the red thread....
