agate stones in pottery by
Marmaj40
Hello all and thanks to all who responded to my agate stone question. I put 4
small "pebbles" into a bowl, bisqued it to ^04, and to my surprise----when I
unloaded the kiln there in the bottom of the bowl were the pebbles just like I
put them in. Nothing happened. I'm sure by firing them higher...

Buying a wheel by
Karen
My husband has wanted a wheel for quite awhile, and I've finally decided
to get him one for Christmas. (And hopefully he won't Google for me and
find this thread before then.) I poked around the FAQs and didn't see any
how-to-buys, so I'm going to have to beg advice.
I'm thinking a kick-wheel,...

I'm trying to locate molds (for plaster-of-paris or concrete) of human
hands and feet, for a novelty garden project. Can anyone help me locate
a source? I'd be grateful if you'd reply directly to my email address

Mist/fogger fountain? by
Bubbles
Hi everyone!
I just love those mist/fogger fountains and found a mist unit (with colors
that I can choose/change) that I can put in one.
As opposed to a "nomal" fountain, the mist fountains have this mist that
should move.
Should I design it so that the mist slips out onto the table, or maybe...

manual wheels? by
Hana Rednib
What is your opinion on using foot-powered wheels? I learned on one and
have been using an electric wheel since moving to my new studio. I kind of
miss the manual one, there was a real tempo you could get into. What do you
think?

refurbishing my kiln by
Mark Tigges
Greetings. My first post to the group.
I have to questions, pertaining to my old kiln.
The kiln is about 20 years old, an old olympic, 2.5" firebrick.
I purchased it used.
1. I didn't know enough at the time I purchased it to ask what had
been fired in it. I'm now getting VERY scared that the...

Can you imagine succeeding as an artisan? by
Carol Pentleton
"I have had a listing on your site for some time now. Since it was
free to post my info and link to my site I did not expect to get much
in return in terms of jobs or calls. Recently I had requested an
update of my biography. You updated the page very quick and
accurately. Then, out of the blue I...

Anybody heard of/use "Bulgarian Pottery" by
Al
Sorry, I have never posted here, (you can find me on rec.guns more
often!) :-) but saw my wife looking at some of this stuff online.
I grabbed her copy of "baker's catalog" and also see that someone is
selling a ton of it on E-bay this week, but have not seen any of it
before. At first glance...

firing agate rocks with pottery by
Marmaj40
Hi--I would like to know if anyone has ever put agate rocks in the bottom of a
bowl and then fired it to---- say ^ 6?
Since they are such beautiful colors, I thought if they would melt, they would
look interesting. They are small--probably no bigger than a quarter.
Thanks in advance for any...
