question from X-stitch newbie by
[email protected]
Hi all.
I've started to work on a cross-stitch and I have a question that's
not covered in my instructions. What do I do when the square has two
symbols in it? Which floss do I use? Am I supposed to do a stich with
both colors of floss?
Thanks for the help.

Shopping Binge...drool!! by
Gillian Murray
The sad news is that a very nice cross-stitch shop, the Cedar Closet in
Winter Haven got hit very badly in the three hurricanes that came through
Central Florida last summer. It was housed in an old converted wooden
church, and the owner and her husband lived in the same structure. Well, it
lost...

needlework resolution for 2005 by
[email protected]
I'm getting bogged down and not enjoying the needlepoint much lately.
I'm resolved now to do 30 minutes a day, no more, no less and I'm
hoping this plan will get projects to completion sooner. Working in
big spurts seems to be working against me.
Another resolution- I won't buy anything new until...

New Year projects by
[email protected]
Let's share our first projects of this new year !
I am finishing three.
#1 -- 2005 will finish before I finish a surface work piece I am
working on -- rather Jacobean and fine silks. I love the intricate
long ones as they become friends. I want this silk piece for the
Federal room so anxious for...

Sadness in the needle craft. by
Fred
The 1st thing that I have noticed is that there are less and less cross
stitch and needlepoint magazines in our local new stands. Some news
stands do not carry any cross stitch and needlepoint magazines period.
The 2nd thing is that we used to have six (6) LNS in my area. Three (3)
have closed...

X-Stitch Designers and the Declining market by
Dianne Lewandowski
Over the past two years, more and more email comes my way requesting
patterns for Tunisian crochet with cross stitch patterns. I have a web
page explaining what it is and get a fair number of hits.
If cross stitch designers are feeling the pinch, this is a market which
is on the move at present. ...

Linda Myers designs by
KDLark
I am thinking about working her "Snowy River Quilts" and would like to work
over one on 20 or 25 count. Now the question...does she have a lot of 1/2
and
1/4 stitches?
I checked the Linda Myers I have hanging in my kitchen -- a total of eight
half-stitches, and it's a huge piece and would...

Hunting for 'Old World' map patterns/kits by

Has anybody seen any cross stitch patterns for 'Old World' type maps? The

partially finished a kit from Bucilla (I think) called 'New World...

Hi everyone!
I don't know if you know of my blogs, but if you do not
know, you will find the links below. I admit I have not
updated them for a while...but I have been busy. Knitting
and stitching keep me busy. But do not lose your hope, I am
