Borders by
Sally Swindells
I have decided that I like pretty borders!
Can anyone recommend a book with lots of ideas. I ordered one from the
library (the only borders one it had), and it is so basic it met
itself coming back! 'Basic quiltmaking techniques for borders and
bindings' by Mimi Dietrich.
Had a look on Amazon...

New books. by
Sally Swindells
Went to the County Spring Garden Show today (in the pouring, pouring
rain), and apart from buying plants (my other addiction!) bought two
books from the cut price book stall, both half price.
One is '21 terrific patchwork bags' by Susan Briscoe which looks
really good, and the other one which I...

April RCTQ BOM Done by
Sally Swindells
Finished the April Blocks - glad the Twisting Star was just a block
and not a whole quilt! Bit challenging.
Now await arrival of challenging SIL for a week's visit. She insists
on helping so I try to get everything done in advance. Job one is to
tidy the garden - if I don't she does - last year...

Fabriholics Motto by
Donna A
One of our quilt guild members brought this to our meeting today - thought
you all would enjoy it.
My Motto:
No one expects the stamp collector to actually mail letters with his stamps.
No one expects the coin collector to use his coins in a vending machine for
soda. So why does everyone expect...

cutting triangles by
Catherine
I am making squares that consist of two triangles (of contrasting
fabrics). Is there a "rule of thumb" as to how large a square should be
cut that will result, after cutting diagonally, triangles that when sewn
together will result in a finished square of a given size? For example,
if I want a...

Need advice for a friend by
Anna Belle
My quilting friend has a Brother 1124 machine. She never got the
walking foot to fit the machine and now the company has told her it is
no longer available.
Anyone have this machine and know what other foot would fit?
Any advice welcome.

Spring Break all week my son went to stay with his grandparents in
Tucson, and I am still battling the broncitis from my birthday, I have

Everything that I could possibly sew, is sewn. This includes all the

OT sort of -UFO gone by
Roberta Zollner
Sat down this morning and finished my longest-running UFO! Must be going on
20 years old. Not patchwork or quilting, but a bobbin lace hanky edging that
was complete except for weaving the 2 ends together. A very fiddly task, but
so satisfying to get it over with! Why did I dither so long over...

Well, I will be in Lizard Land (aka Phoenix) again -- the second
